Maghull is a fantastic veterinary surgery but sadly I can't say the same about Formby. One of my cats developed what was thought to be an ear infection a couple of weeks before lockdown and samples were sent to the lab, he got worse the day after lockdown started. As maghull was closed I was sent to Formby.
Luckily they share vets so I was able to see the same ones. More antibiotics, topical and a shot, and steroids for the discomfort.
A few weeks after discharge he was due a booster so I again took him to Formby and asked them to check his ear and they said all was fine. Literally a few days later he collapsed, his balance went and he couldn't move. Half his face fell and in a panic I rang them. They were dealing with other emergencies (completely fair) and she said I couldn't have an appointment. I replied that really wasn't good enough and he had to be seen, I know my pets and he was ill (again I think fair enough). No triage with a nurse was ordered, and after being put on hold the world's most unprofessional receptionist finally came back to me and told me to drop him off and they'd see him when they could. I reluctantly agreed, but on the way rang my old vet surgery and described the symptoms and was told to bring him in immediately. So I turned the car round and drove there. Urgent refferal to a specialist, CT and MRI within the week after initial treatment and finally last week surgery to fix a problem so much more serious than the ear infection they palmed me off with. Thousands later (not a penny begrudged) and he's home on on the road to recovery. But if it was that place they'd still have me waiting to see him whenever they could.
I had many happy years as a client at maghull but that receptionist and their entirely uncaring attitude nearly killed him. Its a shame that one surgery out of the 4 can put me off so much. But this place has gone down hill.

After a brief emergency visit to the vets I was told there was no need to complete any insurance on the day. on returning to my own vet I was told forms should have been filled in and then after the request for paperwork was completed was invoiced for additional fees.
It strikes me that they did not understand the correct procedures and are happy to charge arbitrarily and without warning for services.

Absolutely love this vets!! My baby girl had a litter of 7 pups before Christmas and all healthy thanks to the support from the Formby surgery! Helped us massively and no question was too big for them...
Absolutely love this vets!! My baby girl had a litter of 7 pups before Christmas and all healthy thanks to the support from the Formby surgery! Helped us massively and no question was too big for them! Just had my final 3 in for their second vaccination and again the girls were so helpful and friendly. Wouldn't go anywhere else. All 4 dogs are with Parker and crowther and I would never change. Thank you to all the ladies in Formby you do a wonderful job...

We had to have our beloved Tara put to sleep yesterday , the vet I think was called Stuart couldn't have been any more sympathetic and the nurses , would like to thank them all which was a difficult time for us.

Took my dog for an appointment as he had an ear infection. I then had to take him back twice they charged me 40 pound the first time and then the second time they charged me 60 for the prescriptions. ...
Took my dog for an appointment as he had an ear infection. I then had to take him back twice they charged me 40 pound the first time and then the second time they charged me 60 for the prescriptions. They then told me it was mandatory for me to bring him back the next week for a check up, on this check up they looked in my dogs ear for 10 seconds maximum and charged me 18.50 pound for this appointment without informing there was going to be charges. My dog is still suffering with his ears as this vets have not gave him the correct treatment even though I have taken him multiple times over this matter. Would not recommend this vets to anyone they are only out for money and not to actually treat the the animal.

Lovely caring staff in the Churchtown vets. They are totally understanding with sheba doggy and her not to keen with other dogs at times.

been with this practice over a year now since moving from Crosby to southport I was apprehensive at first having,been with my previous practice for some 30 years with various pets.i cant fault them ,they are so professional,attentive,nothing is a trouble ,old toby my late dads westie had just been diagnosed with kidney disease,which the practice picked up on ,because of his age via a blood test,the vet rang me to explain / put my mnd to rest.total confidence with this practice,from the vets,nurses,all staff,its a pleasure to visit,thank you all from myself,toby ivy tivvey hitchin.

Maghull is a fantastic veterinary surgery but sadly I can't say the same about Formby. One of my cats developed what was thought to be an ear infection a couple of weeks before lockdown and samples were sent to the lab, he got worse the day after lockdown started. As maghull was closed I was sent to Formby.
Luckily they share vets so I was able to see the same ones. More antibiotics, topical and a shot, and steroids for the discomfort.

Helped us massively and no question was too big for them! Just had my final 3 in for their second vaccination and again the girls were so helpful and friendly. Wouldn't go anywhere else.
