My dog was referred with heart problems - congestive heart failure. They knew this as the cardiologist's reports were sent over. They decided he could be suffering from wobblers! The 'report' they sent was a general cut and past job regarding wearing a harness. Of course, they charged for all this. I complained about the service and my dog was successfully treated by my own vet. A year later, my dog is very ill - an emergency - I call Sath and they refuse treatment. My vet calls for emergency cardio treatment. They refuse again ... because I made a complaint. I'm absolutely flabbergasted. Shame on your cardiology team. Read Less

i've had three experiences with this place and all three have been bad. 1. referred there as my dog had a mast cell tumour. they did scans and told me it hadn't spread. great news. then they said they would book him in to remove it in six weeks! the scans would be well out of date by then, it could have spread anywhere as MCTs are aggressive. I removed him from their care and took him elsewhere to have it removed ASAP. 2. my dog was at deaths door. could hardly walk, showing neurological deficits, couldn't keep food down, losing weight, hardly moving, coughing up mucus for hours a day..... emergency referral was made here. they refused to see him. 3. after having a brain tumour removed at willows (amazing place) he was referred for follow up radiotherapy here as it was the closest to us. The oncologist explained that my boy was very low risk for issues or side effects and neglected to mention that they had never done radiotherapy on a dog who had had the tumour removed. if i had known that, i would not have let them touch my boy. they gave him brain damage. although they tried to convince me it was his tumour coming back till i pushed them to do an MRI scan (which we had to wait two weeks for). over £6k later my boy has gone from being happy and recovering amazingly from brain surgery, to struggling to walk or stand without falling over & unable to play with his friends or toys. He rocks and sways when lying down. i wish I had never taken him here. And i will never, ever use this place again for any other issues. sent a complaint letter last week (after a complaint email weeks ago was ignored). Will see what they say, but unless they can undo the damage they caused to my boy's brain, it won't be good enough. Read Less

I take my other two cats for checks ups and such, the prices are always reasonable and the quality of care is always great. After feeling that I had been prescribed an ineffective treatment, then over charged for the effective solution for my whippet puppy I gave the vets the benefit of the doubt and returned when my puppy was sick. The vet examined my dog and said that she thought he had an obstruction but that he could also have an infection causing his diarrhea and loss of appetite. She gave a quote for around 270 pounds for xrays, tablets, injections etc. All based on what it "could" be. When I said I didn't have the money on the card I had with me but could have it after getting in touch with my partner they told me they could not do the treatment unless paid upfront. She then proceeded to make me feel awful by exclaiming just how concerned and worried she was about the dog and that I must bring him back in the morning to carry out the multitude of treatments quoted. Whilst I was there she gave him an anti vomiting injection (he hadn't vomited for 2 days) and a worming tablet (which he then vomited because of the stress of her trying to administer the injection which took about 5 failed attempts), this along with antibiotics cost 80 pounds. Which was now in addition to the quote. Luckily I did have this amount on the card I had with me. I left feeling horrible and ashamed. Me an my partner later took him to the emergency vet as I just didn't feel comfortable leaving him until morning after the vets grave reaction, the emergency vet was shocked and confused as to why he had been given much of the items and why the vet had quoted the further 270. The emergency vet did a thorough examination and confirmed that there was no obstruction and that xrays where not necessary. She said he wasn't dehydrated, that his symptoms didn't fit obstruction or infection and that he had probably just eaten something bad. She only did blood tests to settle my concerns. If I had gone to see her first the whole process would have cost 40 pounds. Instead I ended up paying 80 to the original vet then 260 for out of hours emergency vets.... all to be told he had a stomach ache and to keep my eye on him. Low and behold he was fine within 24 hours. Shocking and negative experience with no contact made to me after to either a. To check on the dog she was so worried about or b. Explain what had gone wrong after receiving notification of the emergency vets diagnosis. Will never return and be sure to advise against going there to anyone that asks for a referral. Read Less

I was notified my Persian cat had high kidney readings last year and was advised to keep an eye on it. I was advised by one vet over the phone that maybe it was time to think about getting him a medicated diet. I searched for suitable products and could not find any so I called back only to be told by another vet that "it should be fine and not to worry but we need to keep an eye on things". A year later he had lost quite a bit of weight and was becoming very fussy with his food, along with a few toilet accidents around the house which he had never done before. ( I had transferred him quite succesfully from a dry food to a wet food diet) I took him in and was advised to have a blood test to see what was wrong. On getting the results the vet proclaimed the kidney readings were higher than the year before, which she felt the kidneys had started to deteriorate, and wanted to confirm with a urine sample. over the phone she actually responded to my questions about the seriousness of the situation with "let's see how much of his kidneys are left" She basically left me with the assumption that maybe my cat didn't have much time left. as I collected and delivered the urine sample late on Friday I had to wait until today (Monday) for the results. I will admit to being quite distressed over the weekend as he is only 8 years old and I assumed he would be around for at least another 8. After having to call the vets myself on monday I was informed by yet another vet that he had suspected cystitis. when I asked her about the kidney problem she was not even aware, and lo and behold my cat's kidneys are fine! UNBELIEVABLE!!!! We also have a Welsh terrier, and were notified that she needed her rabies injection which she was given and then were informed that they had not looked at the records properly and the injection was not necessary!!!!! I am outraged and really want to go into the practice to give the particular vet who treated my cat and the practice itself a piece of my mind. I was really put off by the conflicting advice last year but have been lazy and did not get round to finding another vet. I will not be using this vet ever again, and I would urge you not too also. I was literally in tears over the weekend over nothing. I really am gobsmacked.Read Less
