Welcome to Newton Vets, the veterinary surgery in the heart of Newton-Le-Willows, St.Helens. Our surgery is run by Claire Fairclough MA VetMB M.R.C.V.S. and serves St.Helens and it's surrounding areas.
We provide expert veterinary care for your dog, cat, rabbit, guinea pig, rat, mouse, gerbil, hamster, tortoise, budgerigar or other companion animals.
Our independent surgery offers a personalised and caring service for your pet.
Our veterinary service consultations are by appointment only.
Newton Vets is a member of Vets Now in Warrington to cover any emergencies that may happen out of hours. We also provided a home visiting vet service for the local area - Vetround2u.
We provide expert veterinary care for your dog, cat, rabbit, guinea pig, rat, mouse, gerbil, hamster, tortoise, budgerigar or other companion animals.
Our independent surgery offers a personalised and caring service for your pet.
Our veterinary service consultations are by appointment only.
Newton Vets is a member of Vets Now in Warrington to cover any emergencies that may happen out of hours. We also provided a home visiting vet service for the local area - Vetround2u.

Been with this vet for over five years. Recently I attended their tiny surgery for one reason - to have my dog expressed. This was a return visit. I had been in the week before, however they were only able to do half a job. When I arrived they started weighing him, and began prepping his vaccinations. I told them very clearly this wasn't why I was there. She seemed bewildered. After paying over £150 I questioned the charges. I was basically told to suck it or go elsewhere. Lovely. £50 for 20 seconds .It doesn't matter how "professional" you pretend to be nobody is worth over £9000 per hour.

I've been using this vets for quite a few years. No more. I have already moved to another vet in the area.
I attended the surgery recently for a specific reason - to have my dog's anal glands expressed. This was a repeat visit as I'd already been in the week before, however they were only able to express one.
Upon arrival they began to weigh my dog, and started prepping for his vaccinations. I informed them this wasn't what I was there for - they didn't have a clue.
They charged me a consultation fee twice, for their own incompetence. Charging over £50 for 20 seconds on the table on the second visit really took the biscuit. It doesn't matter how "professional" you claim to be, nobody is worth over £9000 per hour.
There are four other vets in the area, I highly recommend you consider them long before going here.
I appreciate times are tough, and the owner now has a child, but overcharging in this manner simply isn't on.

Claire, Katie and Olivia have all been amazing with looking after Phoebe, our beagle, this week. I cannot recommend them enough, they all truly care about the animals that they see. Claire really listened to our concerns and took the time to investigate what could be wrong with Phoebe when she suddenly became unwell. I'm pleased to say that she's now on the road to recovery and I cannot thank the team enough at Newton Vets enough.

There are two vets here, both confusingly name Claire, but I've only really have experience of one of them (on maternity leave in December 2016). She provided about 12 months of end of life care to our previous dog, and she offered home visits (as VetRound2U) which is great for animals with restricted mobility, or of a nervous disposition. This is something they still offer, and it's fantastic ! (It's also around the same price as most vets charge if you go to them) She's an awesome vet with a great affinity for animals, and I can't recommend her highly enough !

Newton vets are fabulous. Both Claires are great with my little Yorkshire terrier. They have helped my little lady with every possible health complaint and have offered advice on ways to help her settle in as she's a rescue. I have always been able to get appointments to quickly and at times that I can fit around work. They're too good- I've never known a dog that enjoys going to the vets!

Fantastic vets, really sad now we have moved away that we can't continue to use their service. I have a very nervous dog; we adopted him when he was 3 and so don't know why the poor dog is so scared, but he still remains a nervous animal, but Newton Vets always left him with a wag in his tail. Friendly, helpful and just lovely, lovely people. The best veterinary service I've ever used.

They really care for your animal and are understanding when you are asking questions or worried, I would like to thank all the staff there for looking after willow during her operation today and especially Claire for doing such a great job you all treated her with such love and care this is truly the best vets about !

Had a home visit for my cat, and the vet was beyond friendly and helpful. She was called for a simple tick removal but was here for 30 mins giving him a full check-up and answering our questions.
This was my first time dealing with these, and I have now changed over all my pets to them. Could not recommend them enough.

We had registered shay at newton vets when it was newly opened. We have always been more than happy with the treatment we have received. But it is with sadness that we say our latest visit will be our last. We had to let shay go into a deep peaceful sleep. But what I do want to say is, David made losing shay easier with his caring yet professional attitude. The kindness and understanding we received was excellent. We where allowed time with our boy. We where treated with compassion and understanding. Thankyou to everyone at Newton vets. We will never forget your kindness.

Been with this vet for over five years. Recently I attended their tiny surgery for one reason - to have my dog expressed. This was a return visit. There are two vets here, both confusingly name Claire, but I've only really have experience of one of them (on maternity leave in December 2016). She provided about 12 months of end of life care to our previous dog, and she offered home visits (as VetRound2U) which is great for animals with restricted mobility, or of a nervous disposition. This is something they still offer, and it's fantastic ! Newton vets are fabulous. Both Claires are great with my little Yorkshire terrier. They have helped my little lady with every possible health complaint and have offered advice on ways to help her settle in as she's a rescue. Fantastic vets, really sad now we have moved away that we can't continue to use their service. I have a very nervous dog; we adopted him when he was 3 and so don't know why the poor dog is so scared, but he still remains a nervous animal, but Newton Vets always left him with a wag in his tail. Friendly, helpful and just lovely, lovely people. The best veterinary service I've ever used.

This was my first time dealing with these, and I have now changed over all my pets to them. Could not recommend them enough.
