This vet practice has very knowledgable, friendly staff who care deeply about your pets. They go that extra mile for you, with reasonable rates even for weekend hours services. They also treat exotics, unlike some others, including reptiles, rodents, birds and even huge tortoises. Many operations can be done on site and they monitor your pet really well while they recover. They have never cancelled an appointment with me, or been late returning my pet after surgery. Myself and my family have been going to this practice for over twenty years with various pets and their standards have always remained high. Every time we go there and talk to other customers they all agree that they love the staff and service, and would not change practices unless it closed. Reception is always staffed and getting through to them by phone is easy. Payment processes are quick with a contactless card reader, or cash. There are never hidden charges. You are presented with a treatment plan before any major treatment, or tests, to be signed, so you know what you are paying for. If the bill is sizeable you can arrange a payment plan. I have seen staff many times stay on late to help an emergency case, like a dog hit by a car. If the practice is not open, they refer to Chester Gates Animal Hospital. In the situation that you lose your pet, or have to put it to sleep they are genuinely concerned for you, and take care of you. You can call any time in surgery hours to ask for advice, and the reception staff are usually assistants or nurses, so they can answer well. I had a major problem concerning a lovely ginger & white cat which has lived in our area for many years, he is a semi feral cat ,so l could not get him to go into a carrier,last Friday he came back injured he had done something to his paw, the upshot of the whole thing was he had been bitten by another cat, l had rung round various vets but could not find anyone to come to my rescue, until today l decided to ring The Birch Practice, who came to my rescue, service was fantastic and Mr Shepherd came out to me & treated Ginger as we call him gave him a good dose of antibiotics and l cannot fault the service very caring, l am pleased to say he is much better now. My local vet and has been for many years. I have at present 4 dogs all under their care. My dogs are happy going to them that for me is most important. There rates seem ok and will issue prescriptions to buy meds online to save on coats which is great with 4 dogs. I trust them. The staff are friendly and very helpful. I've used these guys for 20yrs now and would not go anywhere else. Its not about the money here its about the animals they look after. They don't always get it right 1st time but they are only human and have always come up trumps for me in the end. My dogs know they go there to get fixed and have no issues going through the doors. I have 3 cats and wouldn't go anywhere else. My family pets all came to this vets whilst I was growing up and now I bring mine! I nearly lost one of my kittens due to a spinal injury but thanks to Birch in Moreton, mainly Alex I received excellent care and advice and she is now doing great. Last September my perfectly healthy collie Codie collapsed on our morning walk. I rushed her to Birch vet's and Mr Shepherd diagnosed her problem immediately (ruptured spleen) and rushed her into surgery. It was a big shock. She was in a bad way but his fast actions meant she was able to enjoy another two months with us pain free and happy. It also meant she could join us on a family holiday in Scotland where she never stopped smiling and had the time of her life. She as like a puppy again. Sadly the cancer had spread though and Codie collapsed again at the end of November. Again Mr Shepherd rushed her to surgery but sadly there was nothing that could be done. Absolutely appalling. The vets name was Phil and I have never had the displeasure of meeting anyone as arrogant and poor mannered as this man. I had been warned off by friends but I thought I would give Birch vets a go as I was local. Never again. Another thing to mention was the waiting room the whole time we where waiting was completely empty. It is now pretty obvious why.Read Less
