If it were possible to rate into the minus numbers, my rating would definitely lie there. Lack of communication lead to my young cat’s suffering. I would recommend Shepherds Vets to everyone my German Shepard was extremely ill my own vet would not come out and said that they didn’t do outside hours I was registered elsewhere I rang Shepherds vets they told me to take him in if I could or they would come out I took him in and they saved his life I now have my best friend back home with me they were brilliant lovely staff and they cared for him like he was theirs I love them all dearly for what they didxxx Read Less

Lots of staff but seem unable to communicate with each other regarding consultations or medications prescribed. Regularly on hold when trying to call, then after 5 mins of listening to the recorded message the line cuts off so you have to call again. Some Receptionist staff are unhelpful and can be blunt and rude. They did not seem willing to help or seem to care with an issue that was due to their mistake. It seems they care more about money than they do about your animals. The vets however are very good, polite and knowledgable. Read Less

I cannot recommend this veterinary hospital strongly enough. I have been bringing my cats here for decades, since before their new location. They really care about animals and I highly trust them. They saved my cat after he was hit by a car and had to have a life saving operation. They really cared about him and it made all the difference! Read Less

Have been a loyal client with Shepherds Vets Bridgend for many years now. I've found the last few times I've been in with my little dog they were highly rude. There was apparently money outstanding on my account and they demanded payment yet I had not received the medication. Another incident I was given one price on the phone for further medication when I went to pay for it I was told a different price difference of 15. The service is not acceptable. On taking my girls to another vets I was informed that my dog has been over prescribed medication. I hate t think what would be if i had left her under the care of Shepherds vets. We pout our trust and faith into what should be a professional organisation, but to be informed by another Vets that she was on double doze is not acceptable. I will be writing a letter of complaint to Shepherds they don't have the welfare of our animals at heart. I strongly recommend if your unsure about your beloved pets welfare get a second opinion immediately before Shepherds are responsible for killing our beloved pets.They are highly over priced and demand payment before treatment & medication is given. Will not step foot inside Shepherds Vets again. They don't have the animals welfare at heart. Read Less

We transferred to this Practice after a misdiagnosis by a previous vet. We had two dogs aged 12 and 13, both of whom we have sadly lost in the past three weeks, the latest just yesterday. From my first dealings with the practice they have shown the utmost of professionalism, empthay, knowledge and gave us much needed trust back in the profession. Their level of service was exceptional answered facebook at all times of day and night even weekends, phonecalls at night, came out of meetings when we needed to speak to the vet the most. The team at the practice is very committed and professional and every member of that team shows the same level of commitment to their work and empathy with their clients both 4 and 2 legged. I have truly never seen such a committed team at any vets I have ever visited before. A special mention to Zephanie, who has helped me through such a difficult few months, she is a credit to the profession and a truly remarkable vet an absolute credit to her profession We do not plan to replace our boys with new pets as simply they can never be replaced and the pain of their loss is too great, however I would certainly recommend this practice as they are over and above as a team a practice and a profession. Very clean and friendly welcome. Staff were lovely and the treatment my pooch received was really good. My shar pei had surgery on Friday on her eyes bearing in mind I had only rung on Thursday for an appointment. Didn't expect to get in as quick as what I did. She spent most day there on Friday and was very well looked after. Thank you so much to Rachel the vet for sorting Kiki's eyes out she very happy that she is painfree and can see again! when they first opened the new hospital they had 4 vets on each shift everything was efficient and a pleasant experience...as for there's only 1 vet available , my friend's cat got involved in a rta he was hurt bad and they made her wait in the waiting room for 2 1/2hrs before they finally let her see the vet ...I myself have gone there and had to wait 35 mins waiting to pay even though there was 6 people behind reception chatting and laughing with each other Read Less

They are the best vets in the area from the reception staff Jennifer has to have a special mention she is wonderful, so kind and thoughtful. I've been using these vets for over 20 years, they treated all my dogs and continue to do so. Thank you for their dedicated care, attention and amazing skills. Absolutely fantastic with all 4 of my cats and dog... twice my big boy been hospitalised for a week at a time with urinary problems and both times they be fab with him and he still visits once a month since he was 2 I won't go anywhere else with any of mine fur baby's! Read Less

After being a loyal customer for over 20 years I am disgusted !! My cat is in need and they have refused a home visit, they take your money but when in desperate need they turn their nose up. What ethics does the company actually have! Around 6 weeks ago I took my cat to my regular vets Shepherds, bloods were taken, I waited 48hrs + to get the results. The results came in at around midday which I found out when I phoned following up, I phoned several times after that but nobody was available to discuss. Around 6pm I finally had a call back, and I took Bambi in. They contacted me the next day to advise tumours had been found and there was nothing that could be done. They kept Bambi in for an additional night to rehydrate her then she could come home, I was reassured when the time came that I could call for her to be put to sleep. Up until today Bambi had been eating and drinking, over the last 12hrs she deteriorated rapidly. How a vets of your size, which offers "Emergency Help" does not have a home visit vet available at all times is completely unbelievable. A 20 minute visit for the benefit of the animal yet you couldn't make arrangements for this! Is this because you make more money having vets on site? This isn't the Shepherds it once was it is now a corporation, not a family run business that was built on putting the animals wellbeing first. I phoned Maes Glas and they were amazing! I have never used them, not for any of my animals. The first question I asked was if they offer home visits and they said yes with no objections. They offered me a time and I accepted, my cat deteriorated even further so I called them back, they were with me within 30mins. Unbelievable how Shepherds cannot make any arrangements for a loyal customer in an emergency, yet a surgery that's never seen me before make the process as easy as it could be. I do expect a response and will be raising this complaint further in due course. Feeling let down by a vets I once trusted! Read Less
