Sherwood Vets are quite simply the best veterinary practice I have been to. David Platten at the Hampton branch cared for our very old cat for many years and there is no doubt she would not have lived to a ripe old age were it not for his care and expertise. We recently had to put her to sleep, which was distressing but, was eased by the knowledge that she was in David's caring hands. All the staff at Sherwood are fantastic, very kind and good humoured. They take a genuine interest in your pet and you can tell they have a real passion for animals. It is always easy to get an appointment and their out of hours service is also very good. I cannot praise this practice enough.. it is such a relief to find an honest vet who puts my dog's welfare before his own financial interests. Previously I had a very bad experience with another practice, who were overly interested in doing unnecessary & costly tests on my dog, and whose rough handling led to my dog nearly dying.. but now I feel we are in very competent hands at Sherwood Vets. David is a very reassuring and I love his relaxed, but very professional, manner. The nurses are also very friendly and helpful. I am the owner of a golden cocker spaniel, who are renowned for their ear problems. In 30 years of owning spaniels I had never experienced severe problems with ear infections with this breed until recently. My normal vet ( different person every time) prescribed generic ear drops. The problem remained. I tried a second vet who told me my dog needed a partial ear ablation at a cost of 2000. After I had saved the money the fee for this surgery escalated to 3,500 and could have left him partially deaf. After some lengthy research into soft tissue vets I found the Hampton branch of Sherwood vets. I have seen the same vet at every visit. After several months of professional dedication from the vet and finding the cause of this infection my dogs ear is clear. Saving me a fortune and my much loved dog his hearing !! I have seen many vets over the past 30 years and have never experienced the empathy that is displayed at this practice not only by the vet, but by all the staff. It takes me half an hour to drive to this practice passing both previous practices on the way.
