I have recently moved to St Margarets and have registered my one and a half year old cat with this practice. The staff were very friendly and helpful and informed me that my cat was due for his annual booster vaccination. I made the appointment straight away and took him in. We were welcomed by the very friendly and nice receptionist and the Vet. Unfortunately, because of Covid restrictions we could not go in the same room with the Vet and had to hand the cat over. At this point I have to mention that Pickle is the friendliest outdoor cat. He walks up to everyone to be stroked and is quite social with the people and another cats in the neighbourhood. He loves going on walks with us and isn’t easily scared. He has also had experiences with 2 other Vet practices and apart from when he had his microchip inserted as a baby (with the big thick needle) he was docile and cooperative. His experience at the St Margarets Vet, however, was another story. I have never heard him scream so loudly and be so aggressive in his entire life. The Vet had to call for the receptionist to help her hold him down. He was screaming so badly that at one point I wanted to burst in and grab him from the hands of this woman who seemed completely incapable of restraining him. I have no idea what she was trying to do or how she was trying to handle him, but I could literally see him fly around the room through the glass window. At one point I thought she was trying to administer 5 injections at once, that’s how bad the sounds were. It was hard to experience. Ever since then, Pickle has refused to eat, go out or be touched. He growls at us if we want to touch him, sleeps all day, and most of all whinges whenever we try to scratch the back of his neck(his favourite place). A shame really, but I don’t think we will be returning here, and will try to find a different practice nearby. All I hope is that he returns back to normal soon and forgets about this traumatic experience. Read Less

I absolutely love The Vet on the Hill and as well as using the practice for my own dogs I recommend to all my local dog training clients. I have attended appointments with my dogs and clients dogs at both St Margrets and the Richmond practices. The nurses are caring and compassionate and true pet lovers as well as being knowledgeable and always happy to answer questions and advise where applicable. The reception staff have even helped me when I had to take my toddler with me for an appointment and were so welcoming and lovely! I have always been able to get an appointment and been seen quickly with little waiting around which is important when taking an anxious dog to the vets. The vet team have always been amazing! I have seen a few of the vets and each have been kind and efficient making my dogs feel more relaxed. Even when having issues with insurance companies the team have been incredibly patient and helpful. I cannot recommend highly enough! Read Less

Disgraceful service. I am a first pet owner and booked in a 'free consultation' with this place to be given advice on what I need to do when I first get a kitten. Within the first minute of me entering the consultation room, the surgeon proceeded to give my kitten a vaccination and a combined flea and worm treatment without informing me fully of what this was about and that this would cost me. I was in and out of the consultation room within the space of 5mins. He then advised me to go to reception to book my next appointment for my kitten's second vaccination. I went to the reception to book my next appointment and I was asked to £100.00. I asked what this was for and the lady at reception informed me it was for the injection and combined flea and worm treatment that my kitten just had and for the same treatment that will be given to my kitten in the next appointment. I asked why I wasn't informed of these costs prior to it taking place because I was informed on the phone that this was a "free" consultation and that if there were any costs involved, I should be informed of this prior to the services taking place so that I can agree. The surgeon that treated my kitten then comes out of the consultation room and calls me back into the room and an argument takes place between me and him about my above point. He then insults me by saying that I should be intelligent enough to know that none of what took place in the consultation room was for free. Had I known there would be any costs involved, I would have come back on a later date because I was tight on funds and struggling to meet bills that month because I was a full time student paying off my student loan on a part time salary. My visit to the vet was simply to get a free consultation as had been advertised on their website and said by the reception lady on the phone prior to my visit and booking. I agreed to pay for half of the bill given that have half of the services had been performed but refused to pay for the other half given that this was an advance payment for the injection and treatment that was to take place in my next appointment.I obviously refused to pay on the basis that I was never going back there again because of his underhanded behaviour. I now know that these services are not free but the surgeon should have told me this previously and not assumed I knew and furthermore, once he was made aware of this mistake, he should have apologised for the misunderstanding. Instead, he called me stupid. Read Less

I cannot thank all of the team at the Vet in St Margarets enough. I have always used this vets (and sometimes the Vet on Richmond Hill) as the service provided is fantastic. We recently lost our much loved Bulldog, Ronnie. The care he received was personal, professional and heartfelt. Scott, Dianna, Maz, Lisa, Emma and all of the others really did care about Ronnie and were equally as considerate with us, taking into account our feelings and completely understanding what we were going through. We will be getting a new puppy in a few months and I am looking forward to introducing it to the team as I know and feel comfortable that they will look after it and love it as much as they did with Ronnie :) Read Less

The Vet is an amazing Vet practice run by Scott Miller in St Margarets. The staff are nothing short of excellent, with each and every staff member genuinely careing and are passionate about their work and animals. The facilities are modern, clean and fantastic and I would rate it as one of the best family vet practices in West London. I would not trust anyone else with my pets and rest assured the staff will give you a friendly, professional experience and you can be confident that your pet will be in the best care possible.Read Less
