We have three dogs and feel the service offered from BDW is excellent. This practice has been reorganised due to the original partners retiring, I was so sad to see them all go as I felt that each one of them loved my dogs! They were so caring and gentle towards them, I knew they were in safe professional friendly hands. Having felt saddened by BDW retiring, and wondering who will replace such experienced vets. I need not have worried because now we have a full team of young fresh eager fantastic new partners! Kate, Nicola and Mr McCallum! all superb. I have had consultations with them all and again they make me feel as though my dogs health and well-being is the most important. Kate she really is wonderful, great with my dogs. Nicola exceeded all expectations recently as I had serious issues with my pets passports( issued elsewhere) she showed kindness and compassion towards me and I cannot thank her enough in correcting the errors on the passports. I also feel that I should praise Lisa the practice director she is so courteous and helpful, always willing to listen. All in all I would highly and do recommend this Veterinary Practice for your pets. Read Less

Excellent veterinary clinic,have been taking our cats here for 20+ years and have always been very happy with the all the staff,I found them to be always compassionate and professional. The range of services makes this a stand out clinic,two things I'm particularly impressed by is(1) the in house laboratory,today I dropped off a urine sample and was phoned with the (good) news within a few hours. (2) We're also delighted BDW have been awarded cat clinic status,this has helped to calm a very vocal Siamese. My young pup Dejah was hit by a car. She had a very severe injury to her back right leg ending up having to have her two inside toes amputated by the emergency vets. A week after her accident Dejah was transferred over to B.D.W. After weeks and weeks of continuing care from the team at B.D.W Dejah has recovered past 100 percent. She is full of life and never stops. The care and treatment she has received from this practice is nothing short of amazing. Amazing staff just so great to deal with. My pup Dejah is probably the only dog on the planet that loves going to the vet. She can't get from the car into the practice quick enough and I can't blame her. I can't stress how much B.D.W made a difference to my pup and my self during an extremely difficult time. I would rate them ten out of ten time after time for everything and thank them so much for being the amazing team they are. Pretty sure Dejah would agree. Read Less

My shih tzu was diagnosed with an aggressive eye ulcer in Northumberland, Kate (the opthalmologist) and her nurse kindly stayed late on a Saturday to accommodate Darcey's emergency eye surgery.. Extremely unhappy following two visits within a week with the same complaint. Despite informing two different vets of the treatment my dog usually receives they both prescribed different treatments and ten days later she still has painful ears The bill paid was three times what previous treatment has cost and they had the audacity to charge me an additional amount on our second visit to clean her ears as well as a follow up consultation charge I will certainly not be returning Read Less

Malcolm Davidson has looked after my 10 year old shar - pei Blondie, for around 8 years or more. Blondie loves going to see him and let's him do anything without even a wee rumble! When she s had surgery, I felt she was very well looked after and came out wagging her wrinkly tail. Excellent care X Read Less

I have recently moved from another Edinburgh vet to this one, I have been three times with 3 out of my 4 dogs and each experience has been positive, Mr Richard McCallum (sp!) has been the vet I have saw and he has been thorough with my animals and treated them in a respectful and caring manner but more importantly he has made me the owner feel as important as my pet. Not forgetting the reception staff too who have also been very nice both in person and on the telephone. I just wish I had changed vet surgeries about 20 years ago! Read Less

Staff are lovely so caring and empathetic . Last year the brilliant Mr Davidson carried out cataract surgery on our jack russell saving the sight in one of the eyes, dramatically improving his quality of life. We recently had a bit of a scare when the lens in the other eye became detached causing discomfort to our boy. A phone call later we were booked in at very short notice, thank you! After an early morning start and a 170 mile trip Mr McCallum was soon putting our minds at rest, explaining everything so thoroughly and just generally taking fantastic care of our dog. We cannot rate this practise high enough thank you so much for looking after Laddie (and us) , we would have happily driven another 300 miles to get this high standard of expertise. Been with this practice over 10 years and they have treated my guineas, cats and dogs with the upmost best care! I trust them with my furry children! Compared to other practices, prices are on the higher side however having had to weigh this up recently, I still decided that this was the only practice where I know my animals would get the BEST and friendliest care! I always know they weigh up what's best for the animal and never ever recommend treatment if they don't feel it's needed! Thank you! Read Less

i took my 2 cats there about 4 years ago 1 cat took ill the vet gave me something for lung worm the cat clearly did not have lung worm she had respirtory disease i dont know about anyone else but i feel this was poor practice and getting as much money out of as they could ive since found a far better caring vet who only gives you what the pet needs and the examine the pet to high standard . i just recently lost my dog and the care and compassion that dundas vet showed towards my dog and myself and my husband was without a doubt more than i descibed was amazing i cant say enough good words about dundas vet they are the most caring and compasionate vet ive ever been to in my life. not like this vet when we had 1 of our cats put to sleep was awfull the vet hurt her then said he used the wrong needle what kind of a vet does not know what kind of a needle to use on an animal to allow them to go to sleep peaefully it was horrific in my eyes i would never recomend this vet ever. Batchelor, Davidson and Watson was absolutely excellent from start to finish. The nurses were very helpful and welcoming, both on the phone and in person, whilst the veterinarian was friendly and extremely knowledgeable, even for our somewhat exotic pet. Though they are located several miles from us, I wouldn't hesitate to take my pets there again, even with the added taxi fare. Thank you! Read Less
