The doctor was indifferent to my cat and unprofessional. She and a nurse tried to wear by force a collar to my cat and when my cat was scared with that behavior she told me that my pet has problem. They had just to open the collar and put it in a gentle way. After the doctor told me to do it by myself. The cat was scared only when she looked the collar. I am really dissapointed. Read Less

I can't think of a better place for my little pet! Dr. Lindsay treated my dwarf hamster Bandit with care and professionalism I couldn't even hope for. The little hammy was accepted as equal to all other pets and treated with respect an kindness by the whole brilliant staff at Happy Pets! I was given all the needed information and advice on the treatments and aftercare. The people and the atmosphere at Happy Pets made me confidant that I can trust them with the life of my little friend. They were all so kind that they've even kept hammy almost all day after a procedure, because I couldn't get there earlier. Happy Pets are the best vet service I've experience. I came in with an overweight and stressed cat who was very unwell after a house move - they put him onto the right food, prescribed medication to manage his stress levels and have helped him (and me) become much happier and healthier! Went here with my two ratties.Like most places they are mostly specialised in cats and dogs, but the friendly vet was also knowledgeable about my boys and looked up the correct doses etc. She also clearly knew her limits and explained what treatments she would refer me to an 'exotic pets' place for instead.She was very friendly and gentle to my little boys. Follow ups through emails were answered quickly and professionally and I got more antibiotics to lengthen the treatment without any issue or extra visit (only the cost for the medicine).This will be my go-to place, friendly environment. For really serious issues I might go to the Royal Dicks school but they are also more costly and further away. Read Less

Headed here for our annual 'torture of my cat' that is, vaccination time!The staff were lovely and let me open the carrier in the waiting room as it was evening and they weren't expecting anyone soon. My baby had a little roam around while we waited, which was fantastic as she gets stressed in her carrier. The actual checkup/vaccinations were painless and Dr. Lindsey was very patient with my typical over-protective, super paranoid fur-mama demeanour (yes I said fur-mama, I have come to terms with what I am). Unfortunately the checkup revealed that a tooth extraction was required so a few weeks later we returned. Everything went off without a hitch and I now have a happy cat with one less tooth.The surgery is clean and comfortable. There's plenty of bits and bobs on sale in the reception area for your fun needs (a post vet treat perhaps?) and the receptionists are efficient and lovely. They also have some reasonable opening hours that suited me as I work out of the city and am carless. Would definitely head here again! Read Less

I moved to Edinburgh in August 2013 from Washington DC where my family had visited the same vets for over 30 years - they had become family friends - that's a leap of faith for me as I boarded a plane with two cats. Dr. Lindsey and her wonderful staff at Happy Pets give us that same level of personalized care that I worried I might miss.   If I pop in for food for our kitty with a sensitive tum, they ask how all three (my husband brought 1 cat to the party!) are getting along, they always ask after our kitty with IBS - the one that gives them the most trouble, and genuinely care for all our little wards.  They are always looking for solutions and open to trying new products and approaches.  The entire staff is clearly passionate about their work, the vet techs are very knowledgeable and keep up with latest information in fields like veterinary nutrition - which can be pretty rare to find.  One of the best things is knowing that I can call them and get measured advice, instead of a quick 'bring her in' - more often then not, the reply is 'keep an eye on her, and call back in a day or two'.  I trust them to give us the best possible and appropriate care for our little napper-hunters.I endlessly appreciate all Happy Pets has done for us over the last 10 months and highly recommend them to anyone in need of trusted care for their furry friends.
