Unfortunately I had to visit with a very poorly cat and left without him:( but all the way through the visit the staff were very understanding and sympathetic and gave me all the time I needed to spend the last few moments with my boy. A lovely touch was a candle in reception that was lit as a mark of remembrance. I've been going to summerhill for many years and they've always been so good to me and my various pets so I have no worries about recommending them to anyone. When we moved to fakenham we picked summerhill after being previous clients of the grove I would never go back after a bad experience with them. So glad I chose Summerhill after my fur baby Rascal was taken ill in April. He must of seen nearly ever vet and is finally over his illness and back putting weight on. I cannot convey how incredibly greatful I was to Lucy, the vet who was so kind to my little boy when he had to say a sad goodbye to his hamster. She made him feel as though his hamster was the most important animal in the world, showing such compassion and thoughtfulness in the way she comforted him (and me!) I recently had to take one of my beloved bunnies in and unfortunately had to make the heart renching decision to have her put to sleep. I was absolutely heart broken and felt so guilty. The lovely staff at summerhill were all very supportive. A special thankyou to Kian and Grace. They really treated my little faith like their own and were so supportive and loving the whole way through the procedure. They are some of the few people that understood my heartache and didn't give me the 'its just a rabbits speech. I was given a lovely pack offering support for the loss of a pet which contained a little candle and a pack of forget me not seeds. To top this off I received a card the next day send their wishes from all the staff at summerhill vets which I thought was absolutely beautiful because it shows they don't just see it as a job... they really care about every animal and person that comes through those doors. Took my dog here recently after having a few issues at The Grove which resulted in my dog being terrified of vets. They got my dog booked in straight away & gave great advice over the phone, they then saw him & even though he was really scared being at the vets the vet was so good with him & the receptionists here are all lovely too. Thank you so much for the help you gave to my Great Dane Pie on Saturday when he was taken ill on a day trip to Wells. Even though it was out of hours and were not even clients the help and care given by Michelle Mortimer and the other lady attending ( sorry I didnt get your name) was excellent, We got Pie home with no more problems, he slept all the way and although still a bit subdued seems to be fine now. My sister and I were on holiday in Burnham Deepdale and our doggie had an accident and cut her lip and gums very nastily. Summerhill Veterinary Centre was recommended to us and we raced their with our bleeding and very sad looking doggie. The treatment, care, attention to detail and love for animals was tangible from everyone in the Centre. My sister and I cannot thank you enough for everything you did for Jazz - she is currently napping happily on my bed pain-free! We can certainly recommend this wonderful surgery to everyone. Read Less
