My friend had arranged to collect her dog's ashes on Friday 23 December. When she got to the surgery despite having phoned the day before and making arrangements to pay after Christmas she was told she had to pay then and there or she couldn't take the ashes home. Despite being incredibly stressed, heartbroken and upset she was dealt with in full view of clients rather than being taken somewhere more private, she was made to feel like a criminal thus making a bad situation even worse. If it's practice policy to ask for payment before releasing the ashes surely clients should be told in advance and treated gently at such a distressing time? Trisha has nothing but praise for the veterinary care her dog received over the last 10 year's she is just totally unimpressed with the appalling aftercare of a client who always paid on time. She was also horrified to find that her beloved dog was taken to Surrey to be cremated. Read Less
