Kept my puppy outside for a significant period of time after a large operation because I forgot my payment card (misunderstanding) and basically thought it was ok to delay getting my puppy comfortable rather than swiftly dealing with the payment. I would have spent all the time in the world getting their money there and then if they would have just made my little girl comfortable. Didnt put her welfare first at all and they fail to acknowledge this part- The practise manager stated the nurse my puppy was with would have been monitoring her however each time i looked over the nurse was looking at me rather than my puppy as i was gesturing ‘sorry’ to her. He also stated my puppy would have been in discomfort (which was obvious to me) and i had signed a form which stated payment to be made on collection without acknowledging i tried to make payment at the time via online banking but nothing could be verified to the point the receptionist said ‘oh ive only just realised what you were trying to do’ about 5 mins into the debacle. Ultimately regardless of anything my point is that no respectable vet should keep a puppy which is in discomfort after an operation outside for longer than is necessary. They should have immediately allowed me to get her in my car and warm and then sorted out their payment. I have never been in debt to this company. They also spelt her name wrong, failed to call to check on her as promised, her scar took around 2 months to fully heal and got infected having followed their advice (im wondering if we got the wrong care leaflet due to the misspelling of the name) and they failed to see a dew claw which was starting to wrap her leg (despite saying they would check her over when she was under). We have now moved vets and i will never ever recommend this branch although other branches are far more empathetic and i know for a fact have told customers to pay at home in similar situations to ensure an animals welfare comes first.
