I brought my 10 week old puppy here first thing this morning hoping to see a vet as he had quite a bit of blood in his poo. Despite explaining his symptoms I was informed it was appointment only and in any case there was no vet in yet. Incredibly poor service and considerable lack of understanding. Went to another vet locally who were truly excellent and diagnosed my little pup with colitis. Had we not caught it when we did he could have been really ill. Shame on you for turning away an ill pup away without even offering any advice. Do not recommend. Read Less

Called this vet on a Monday morning a few months ago to try to get an appointment for my cat, an 8 yr old rescue who I'd had for 6 months. She wasn't registered with you yet, I'd planned on doing so when her vaccinations became due in Sept. I explained she'd come home with her paw bleeding the night before, it had swollen up over night and she wasn't able to put her weight on it. Whoever answered the phone was clearly trying to make a point about me not having her registered with a vet already "You've not registered her", "you have a cat and you've not registered her", "you've had her 6 months and you've not registered with a vet yet" etc. I explained she was a rescued from Romania, had been vaccinated and had a full check in the UK before I gave her a home, so we hadn't needed a vet yet. You then became more concerned with seeing her paperwork (she has a passport) than about seeing the injured cat with the swollen paw. You told me to bring her paperwork in that evening and you'd try to see her later in the week. You should have recognised from my description of her symptoms that she couldn't wait for treatment and advised me to go elsewhere, instead your comment suggested it could wait. Thankfully I recognised she needed seen ASAP, as did vets4pets in Hamilton who managed to squeeze her in that evening and send her on her way with the antibiotics and painkillers she needed. She explained things to a t and even came out when we were receiving her antibiotics to tell us of the different dosage (which the lovely receptionist also did). Recently changed over to Brannock vet as like the earlier reviewer (Stephanie) we did not have a good experience with one of the other local vets and overall lost confidence in going there. Enough said.Brannock surgery was recommended to us by the pups trainer and we made some enquires and feedback was good.On the day of "introduction", we were wondering how it would go as the pups vet experience to date was less than positive. No need to worry; the surgery was modern and spotless, the reception member of  staff was  first class,  likewise the  duty vet - Alison -  listened to our tale and adopted a caring and patient approach in handling the pup and you could see the pup settling down. A great first experience for our visit to Brannock and importantly the pup was far less stressed than his previous experience to the former vet, which is what it is really all about. Well done Brannock surgery and Alison in particular. Thanks. Read Less

Choosing a vet to take your beloved pet to is like choosing a nursery for your kid. It has to be someone you respect and trust, who you would feel safe in the knowledge that they were prescribing your pooch the right medicine. We took our little puppy Ollie to a different vets at first in a neighbouring village but didn't find them to be very accomodating when we needed them most; my pup was taken from his mum too early and had a lot of digestion problems. One night, in an emergency we called the Brannock Vets Surgery, when the pup was really poorly. They couldn't have been more helpful, telling us exactly how to deal with the problem. So they became my doggies new doctor! The surgery itself is small, with one treatment room and extensive area through the back. The receptionists are young and friendly, and always really sweet when my pup piddles in the corner every single time he goes there! The vet, Elaine, is just fantastic with the animals and puts them and the owners at complete ease. We even ring up sometimes just to ask advice and she's always happy to help. The surgery sells a small selection of pet food and toys too, which is handy if you want to reward your furry friend there and then for his bravery!Fantastic vet, can't recommend it enough!
