Several vets misdiagnosed our rescue GSD 5 years ago. We tried White Cross and Paul at WCV sorted her in one visit! Since then we have always used and recommended them to family and friends. On Thursday I had three dogs out; whilst running in woods the little lurcher gashed her front paw and the blood poured. She had clearly hit a main artery. I couldn't stem the flow. I called WCV from the van whilst travelling to them. The receptionist was first class on the phone. Rushing in, the receptionist took the dog straight off me and carried her to the operating theatre where the vets had already assembled. The other 2 dogs were distressed with the blood in the van so I got them into the reception. A member of staff took us into a consulting room took details of the injury and went to the theatre and relayed the info. She came back and looked after the other 2 dogs whilst I cleaned the blood off myself. They wouldn't let me clean the floor in the waiting room. The operation took 1-1/2 hours and Lizzy called saying it was successful stitching two tendons and a main artery. Shortly after she called to say there were complications suggesting internal bleeding and were transferring her to the specialist hospital on the A689. Thankfully it was only internal bruising possibly from hitting a tree in a high speed tumble after cutting her leg. The Hospital vet said at least 4 different times that WCV had undoubtedly saved the dogs life and had clearly fully understood what to do when they re sedated her and the instructions he received from them. Pets are part of the family and had we lost her, we would have been devastated. Lizzy and the team are such a great caring, professional outfit that I cannot ever imagine going elsewhere. They have always been good, but on this occasion 5 stars fails to do justice to their level of care and expertise. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH.Read Less
