Absolutely shocking!! Took my dog in friday with excruciating stomach pain to be told it was his ears causing pain so was given special drops, tablets and anti allergy dog food costing £100 had to then take him in 2 days later as my dog continued to be screaming to be told the ear drops were making his ears worse and he was given morphine for the pain. The morphine did not work throughout the evening and night i had to lie with him on the dining room floor as he was unable to move and in pain so the morphine hadn't worked. Rushed him back in the following day to ask for xrays on his stomach like i had initially asked for and it was confirmed he had inflamation and trapped gases. We were originally quoted £200 for xrays but on the day they then told us £340 when we arrived to collect him it had gone upto £370 as they had ran blood tests we had not asked for nor been told about! He left today on tablets for his tummy which initially he should of been given 4 days ago as the first ones are now useless. When i spoke with a woman explaining the first tablets were now useless, the ear drops made his ears worse and the morphine didnt work could we have some kind of discount as these treatments had totalled £200, i was spoke to so rudely and abruptly. Absolutely appalled by the staff and how they have gone about things. Instead of listening to what i believed was the inital problem has just cost us hundereds for unnecessary treatments... now another 2 days on he is still in pain, i have called numerous times from 9.30am today for blood test results to be told I'd be called back it is now 17.30 and nothing!! We sadly had to have are eldest dog put to sleep on Wednesday I'd I'd would just like to say how compassionate and understanding all the staff were even letting us split the payment. Wen my partner and son went to settle the bill they so kind in asking how we all were and how are other dog was which is the daughter of the one we lost and they even gave my son a free toy to bring home to cheer her up which it did. This is a excellent vets, offering a wide range of services. The opening hours are fantastic if you work during the week as weekend appointments are available at no extra cost. This practice is absolutely great. We have had wonderful treatment here for a our little dog....who firstly had pancreatitis and then became diagnosed as diabetic. The reception staff are lovely. ...always welcoming and helpful, patient and full of empathy....and 'John' has always given us his very best attention in every situation we have presented him with. John and all the girls at Companion Care vets are extremely kind and caring. We have been with them for approximately 5 years now and our pets have always been treated with so much care and professionalism. Cant recommend this veterinary practice highly enough. My 3 girls have been using this practice for over 4 years and they actually enjoy seeing John. I have had the pleasure of meeting Joao and his team on many occasions when my sugar gliders require neutering. I have always been impressed by the pleasant and efficient service I receive and have never had a problem with any of the procedures carried out. We have been with companion care for a few years now, and we have had other vets in the past. Joao and his staff have never been anything more than wonderful. Kind / caring / knowledgeable / very skilled. One of my cats has had very complex knee surgery and not many vets are capable of doing that. At present one of my cats is recovering with the staff after dental surgery. I had an update from Joao himself and he mentioned that my cat had a" little accident" in his cat bed and someone has kindly washed it for me. How kind is that. It is really sad to see bad reviews for such exceptional professionals who have a duty of care to the animals not the owners. Our cat Smudge was very poorly, off colour over the weekend so took her in on Mon. not realising how poorly she was. She was operated on the same day & given the very best care by wonderful staff. After getting our kitten spayed her wound opened. Wanted to charge more for restitching than the original operation. Now her internal stitches are poking through her skin. Not happy at all.
