Veterinary practice specialising in Small Animal, Poultry, Farm and Equine. We are long-established and have a dedicated team of veterinary surgeons, nurses and support staff who provide quality professional care for all your animals.
Small Animal Department: Our main surgery in York is at Salisbury Road, with branches at Haxby, Copmanthorpe, Old Earswick and Crockey Hill, meaning you never have far to travel.
Our caring and experienced team are here to look after all the needs of your pets; from advice on the care of your new companion through to high quality professional treatment should they fall ill. We have vets with further qualifications in surgery, internal medicine and cardiology and facilities to ensure the service is everything you would expect from a modern veterinary practice. These vets can also provide a service for more specialist investigation of pets from other veterinary surgeons.
We have our own dedicated vets to cover out of hours work ensuring peace of mind at any time of the day or night along with a 24hr nursing team to care for poorly pets staying in our hospital. Contact us on 01904 643997.

I cannot recommend The Minster Vet Practice at Salisbury Road at all!
We have visited two different vet doctors there with the same medical condition of our dog - they were not able to help and sort out the problem not even once. They are just guessing what the problem is and prescribing different medicaments in a hope they will guess right. Not necessary to say our dog is still suffering and we are paying for useless "help" every single time when we go in. I asked them to take a sample and send it to a lab so we know what we are dealing with but I was refused every time and was prescribed shampoos, antibiotics, etc. instead.
I have a feeling they just like to cash - the more you come asking for a help, the more they cash in.

Really great vets. We've had some tricky problems with two of our three cats but they persevered and neither would be alive if it wasn't for their efforts. Cant recommend enough. Staff are always help...

Very informative & friendly staff. Main concern was the animals well being. Clean consultation areas. Seating areas are divided into cat and dog waiting areas. Plenty of accessories to purchase for pets inc. food but expensive. Animal dispensary on site. Long opening hours. Close to City centre & RSPCA. On a bus route. Parking free but a v tight squeeze during the busy hours.

After leaving unhappy with Tower vets on the last few occasions, i decided to look online at reviews for other vets in York, Mister came out highly on other reviews so i thought i would try call, they not only managed to get my 2 cats records the same day but also fit an appointment in a few hours later for my poor limpy cat and grumpy old man cat. The vet Ruth was very professional, friendly and caring and really spent time checking over both my lovely cat babies, she was great. All the receptionists couldn't have been more friendly and helpful, really sweet ladies. The building is very clean and modern and they offer weekend appointments and late nights for fantastic flexibility. I couldn't be more happy with my decision to swap, thanks from me and the cats :-)

Superlative vets where the staff really go above and beyond the call of duty (even, once, opening up for me to collect some medication when they were technically closed). If you haven't been there before, slow down and watch for the turn - if you miss it, the road layout makes it a pain to turn around and come back.

I cannot recommend The Minster Vet Practice at Salisbury Road at all!
We have visited two different vet doctors there with the same medical condition of our dog - they were not able to help and sort out the problem not even once. They are just guessing what the problem is and prescribing different medicaments in a hope they will guess right. After leaving unhappy with Tower vets on the last few occasions, i decided to look online at reviews for other vets in York, Mister came out highly on other reviews so i thought i would try call, they not only managed to get my 2 cats records the same day but also fit an appointment in a few hours later for my poor limpy cat and grumpy old man cat.
