Would not recommend on the basis of our experience, albeit some years ago. They did not advise of all treatment options and as a result our cat died. During the trauma we sought second opinion from St Peter's Vets only to find they were part of the same setup. No surgical option offered by them either. Spoke to our previous vet in London as the situation worsened. He said he would've taken out the thyroid immediately. Met with Mrs Harvey who was angry and aggressive about us having sought another opinion and questioning her. Still did not offer surgery. Have not been back to Northlands since. When cat's twin sister started experiencing the same symptoms we took her elsewhere, they operated and she happily and healthily lived another 5 years. Really disappointing to see similar experiences being reported by others. Save yourself heartache and try Vets4Pets for example. Read Less

Went to the Rockingham Road site several times and it was very good for non emergency issues. Went on another occassion and was dealt with a locum vet who did not provide good treatment to my dog's eye and eventually after several trips to the George Street site and Kettering site the eye infection was too far gone and had to be removed. It became a very expensive treatment only to be told at the end of it all the eye was probably better being removed. I am disappointed but not surprised to read so many shocking reviews, I only wish I read them before I took my dog to this vets 2 weeks ago. My boxer was in labour and I was worried so took her to the emergency vet for help. She was X-rayed and given hormone injections and then delivered 2 healthy pups, she needed a csection to deliver the other 2 pups. I was very upset and worried about this. The nurse suggested, on s number of occasions that I could have another vet to carry out the surgery, I explained that I had no issue with the original vet. The surgery went well and all pups were fine. However, a few days later I received the invoice and had been charged an extra 149 for a second vet. Worse than that the nurse dropped one of the 2 hour pups on the hard floor from standing and the other nurse said "at least it bounced". Total lack of professionalism and insensitivity. Even worse at 13 days old that pup died, presumably due to being dropped! Totally gutted about the whole situation. I emailed the vets and got a half heated apology offering a most mortem. I emailed Friday afternoon and received s reply Tuesday night, of course the baby had been cremated by then! I have had an awful service and now have a 1300 bill to pay for the pleasure. AVOID at all costs. Dreadful service but staff who do not care.Read Less

I've waited a few weeks to write this as I did not want it to be fuelled with bias and emotion. Our family had been loyal members of Northlands Corby with our beloved golden retriever for the entirety of his 15 year life. After months of deterioration with arthritis, we had to make the heartbreaking decision to let him go to sleep. We rang the Corby branch to request a certain day that the vet could come to our house and we were told 'well we can book it in but there's only an 80% chance we will do it on that day.' 80% chance?!? We said this wasn't possible, how could we prepare ourselves for an 20% chance of it not happening? We explained this to the receptionist who stated 'well we do have other customers to see you know!' Of course I'm fully appreciative of that but I was not prepared to settle on an 80% chance. I apologised profusely (no idea why!!!) and explained I would have to approach another vet if this was the case as we had emotionally/mentally prepared ourselves for the selected day. The receptionist replied 'well if your going to do that I'll just mark him as dead on our files then shall I?' How utterly unprofessional and callous this conversation was. After 15 years of loyalty the only thing you could see was pound coins. Should your service continue in this manner, I cannot fathom the idea of recommending your services to anybody I know. I sincerely hope there are few others with this experience at what is the most difficult time in a pet owner's life.Read Less

unfortunately I had to use their out of our service as my 11 year old great dane had bloat. The vet kept trying to get us to operate despite him being a very old dog with rapidly progressing bloat. We told him we would rather he was put to sleep as we dont want him to suffer. Eventually the vet agreed and we were told how much it was going to cost and were told to come back the next day to pay. After receiving the receipt we noticed a charge for over 100 that had an indecipherable description, even the receiptionist couldnt tell us what it was. We were then told we needed to speak to the practice manager who wasn't in at the time. We called and visited the vets numerous times but Mr Howes was conveniently never available. Will definately not be using these again, clearly taking advantage of owners greif hoping they wont notice random charges on the bill.Read Less

Been with Northlands for a few years - I became increasingly concerned with with the allegedly 'Trained' Vets abilities -- often it seemed it was a wild guess and a prescription at and even wilder price, with my recent dealings with them - it has been a catalog of disasters which proved very expensive, thankfully their redeeming feature is their Vet Nurses who are in the job because they actually do care about animals and their owners. Now that I have moved Vets I'm happier and wealthier.Read Less
