Today we took 30 year 2 children from East Hunsbury Primary School to visit the centre and chapel. Shirley was so good with the children. She explained about the baptistry and showed us photographs of her own baptism and then took us to visit the chapel. She had the children fascinated with her knowledge of the church and explained everything so clearly using many artefacts including the 'big' key, photographs of the original Abbey Church and the Holy Communion silver. The children and adults had such a wonderful time and we suddenly had to rush off to get back to school in time and I never got to say a proper thank you for her thoughtfulness and patience!
