Absolutely brilliant! I can not fault these at all! I was referred by vets4pets after my little dog stupidly ran onto the road and broke her leg! Took her in straight away and had her surgery the day after, I was constantly on the phone checking up on her and they didn’t mind at all! Lovely staff! Even helped me through the payment as not everyone can just come up with 3k, they looked after my little Lola very well! They called every morning to let me know how she was and I really appreciate everything they have done for me and my baby! She’s recovering well and again i can’t thank them enough! I would definitely recommend although I hope I never ever have to as lovely as they all are! Our fur babies are worth it! Thank you!!! Read Less

Friendly professional service and care. It is reassuring to have a hospital within easy distance from our vet that is also now part of the my Family Vets group (having formerly been Croft) Handled my puppy's treatment for lameness due to Cellulitis very well and processed a claim with my insurers Petplan directly meaning I didn't have to find 900 and claim back myself. My puppy could have been overwhelmed by this infection and died without quick diagnosis and treatment. Petplan and this hospital have had a professional relationship for years and there is a real benefit to be had here from this for those who use the hospital and are insured via Petplan. Read Less

We were referred to the Croft by our then local vet after our Labrador was diagnosed with bladder stones. The Croft then carried out xrays and ultrasound test and confirmed that our dog had a growth in her bladder but not stones. We then took her back for further tests and a biopsy was taken which came back as negative for cancer and we were told it was an inflammation and were given medication to treat this. After several weeks on this medication there was no improvement with her condition so we decided to visit another local vet. They carried out their own tests and confirmed that she had a tumour in her bladder which we have had removed. The vet bills are currently well in excess of 3.5k of which the Croft charged nearly 2k for a wrong diagnosis. We feel bitterly disappointed as we thought we were dealing with so called experts in their field, clearly not. I admitted my dog to this vets on June 2nd 2015 under the care of Mr. Henney. I was told at the time that the disease my dog suffered from was treatable with a 40% recovery rate. I was advised to have biopsies taken in order to find the best treatment. At no point in this consultation did Mr. Henney warn me that the dog was seriously underweight and not fit for the operation. The biopsy operation was on 5th June. On 6th June I had to return the dog as he had become seriously unwell. The vets response was the dog would be better  off at home and I had to insist that they took the dog's vital signs, temperature etc. It was then found the dog had a seriously high temperature, so he was re-admitted at that time. I picked up the dog on Sunday 7th after he had been placed on a drip and antibiotics. The dog died at home in the early hours of 12th June. I phoned the vet that day to report this. They promised to return my call but did not do so. I returned to Crofts personally on 13th and was told by Mr. Henney that he did not know why my dog had died. Previously I had been supplied with medication for the dog, but had been charged for two different drugs but was given one only tablet of an entirely different kind from that prescribed.   I also found their reception staff to be more concerned about how up to date my payments were. I found this whole vet practice to be inefficient, uncaring, and incompetent. I personally would never use this vets again or advise anyone else to do so. Read Less

We have been using Croft for 5 years since moving to Newcastle. Just prior to moving our Labrador was diagnosed with various heart complaints by a specialist veterinary cardiologist in the New Forest and we were therefore looking for a practice with hospital facilities and also at the time Croft employed a specialist cardiologist as well. Initially they supplied the heart medication (human) and the cost was the same as we had been paying previously, but following difficulties in obtaining it, we now receive a private prescription for 6 months worth and cash in at local pharmacy. We cannot praise their treatment and care of our two Labradors enough, especially Henry who had to be treated for a dog bite on the ear and admitted for overnight stays. Like all vets, most charges are expensive and tend to come in just under the excess amount for most insurers. My only complaint is that they are so hot to prevent any debt being incurred that we have been charged before we even collected items - an Elizabethan collar for Henry and then he broke two in a day we decided not to bother with another new one and it took a little while to get the charge for an uncollected replacement to be credited.
