Absisgusted that we were charged £20 for a consultation fee when we took out dog to have his anal glands done and nails clipped, quoted on the phone £22 for nails amd £23 for analysis glands. Was changed £61.90! Extortionate! We didn't even have a consultation. Very poor service, I'd you going to change thus at least add it into your quotes when your giving them out

Amazing vets with dedicated & caring staff. Paul was absolutely brilliant with our chow Leo after being called out to re open the surgery on a bank holiday Monday! Didn't complain ,spent a hour with Leo then a week later gave the quickest diagnosis on our cat lucky I've ever known. Operated the same evening & had her back fighting fit 24hrs later. Very impressed , a big thank u to Paul & his team. xx

During a melee with his brother Woody cut his chest after breaking and falling on a vase. Without hesitation we called Companion Vets right upon closure time. We were met with professional staff on the phone and instantly took Woody to the Clinic. We were greeted warmly by reception and regardless of other appointments were seen swiftly by Paul. Sparing the details he was professional, practical, reassuring and understanding as ever and just amazing with fixing Woody. Thanks again Paul!.....you are our life time vet.

My gorgeous old cat of 12, Oscar got very ill after living his whole life with no problems. After just a couple of visits to The Companion Vets they found he had a hyperthyroid problem. All the way through, everyone at the clinic was kind and informative. Both vets were excellent. It was a very difficult time when I found out that Oscar would have to take tablets for the rest of his life. However, a couple of weeks in, Paul Dowie advised that he could perform an operation to remove the thyroid - he talked me through it, what the advantages and disadvantages may be and what the percentage of positive outcome would be. Based on this information, I decided to let Paul perform the operation. He was wonderful and Oscar is now a very healthy and much happier cat. Excellent service, excellent information and lovely atmosphere. So glad I found them

Absolutely brilliant - stitched up Zorro, my young cat who was hit by a car. His face and jaw were smashed but he is now completely fit and well and even with the few teeth he has left he is unfortunately still a fearless hunter.

Paul (and everyone at Companion) have looked after all our cats since we came to Newark over 10 years ago. He's done everything from cyclic inoculations right up to fairly major surgery for one of them. We can't fault them and would not want to trust our little fellas to any other vets care.

Amazing vets with dedicated & caring staff. Paul was absolutely brilliant with our chow Leo after being called out to re open the surgery on a bank holiday Monday! Didn't complain ,spent a hour with Leo then a week later gave the quickest diagnosis on our cat lucky I've ever known. Operated the same evening & had her back fighting fit 24hrs later. Very impressed , a big thank u to Paul & his team. xx

During a melee with his brother Woody cut his chest after breaking and falling on a vase. Without hesitation we called Companion Vets right upon closure time. We were met with professional staff on the phone and instantly took Woody to the Clinic. We were greeted warmly by reception and regardless of other appointments were seen swiftly by Paul. Sparing the details he was professional, practical, reassuring and understanding as ever and just amazing with fixing Woody. Thanks again Paul!.....you are our life time vet.

Our beloved golden retriever has recently had two operations to remove mast cell tumours, and our Border terrier has had to have dental treatment.The care/management of our pets by Mr Dowie and his staff has been excellent. My gorgeous old cat of 12, Oscar got very ill after living his whole life with no problems. After just a couple of visits to The Companion Vets they found he had a hyperthyroid problem. All the way through, everyone at the clinic was kind and informative. Both vets were excellent. It was a very difficult time when I found out that Oscar would have to take tablets for the rest of his life. However, a couple of weeks in, Paul Dowie advised that he could perform an operation to remove the thyroid - he talked me through it, what the advantages and disadvantages may be and what the percentage of positive outcome would be. Based on this information, I decided to let Paul perform the operation. He was wonderful and Oscar is now a very healthy and much happier cat. Excellent service, excellent information and lovely atmosphere. So glad I found them
