We recently had a stray cat that we'd traced the owner on Facebook. He said Ark Vets was their vet so we agreed to take the cat there to have him scanned. We rang Ark Vets in the morning and were told it would be no problem by a very nice receptionist. We got there and the same receptionist put us in one of their rooms. All very positive until the most rude person I have ever come across stormed in, roughly pulled the cat out of the carrier and then stuffed him back in. We told her the story of the owner but she said they couldn't take in a healthy cat but she'd try to contact the owner. She stormed out and then back in for my details. She then came back and said she couldn't reach the owner and would 'just have to stuff the cat in a kennel'. She snatched up the carrier without a single care for the cat.
When we were leaving I asked what would happen to the cat if the owner couldn't be reached. I was tartly told she didn't know, just didn't know but maybe a cats home. I asked to be called so we could take him to the rescue we got out cats from. I'm not holding out much hope. I've messaged the owner to ask him to pick him up as soon as possible as I'm not even sure the cat will get water while he's there.
We have 4 cats and I'm so glad we take them to Ashfield House Vets in Long Eaton. I have never seen so little care for a creature or such general rudeness. I know scanning is a free service and possibly inconvenient but it was as if we had destroyed this woman's life.

Rather bad a friend found a missing dog and was taken here ,they did not look for a chip ,which it had ! And obviously it was then picked up and taken to pound and they now have to find 200 pound ? Wh...

I do not rate this practice at all or The Attenborough practice, I found them very unhelpful when my dog was poorly. I had to take my dog to the out of hours emergency vets at priory island and ark vets new nothing about this when contacted, they also failed to contact priory to provide them with information about my dog when needed...Unfortunately I lost my doggie and was truely devastated, only 2/3 weeks later they chase me for 80 threatening me with debt collectors (how inconsiderate) especially when I had paid upto to nearly 1500 of fees at priory island which went on a credit card, but Ark vets did not care about this and insisted I paid or further action will be taken.
Do not use this practice they do not care

I have found Stephanie an excellent Vet for my cat Bubbles. She is kind, helpful and gives excellent advice. I love the way I can phone her and she will advise me free of charge. Also like me, she tries not to distress the cat giving medication where necessary, but explaining how to work with it, and minimise side effects - only giving where necessary. Thank you Stephanie you are much appreciated.

We recently had a stray cat that we'd traced the owner on Facebook. He said Ark Vets was their vet so we agreed to take the cat there to have him scanned. I do not rate this practice at all or The Attenborough practice, I found them very unhelpful when my dog was poorly.
