Excellent vet. I was very anxious bringing in our two rabbits for vaccinations and nail trims as they can get upset when restrained. He was great at handling them, very patient with us as well and took the time to go through handling techniques and gave us a lot of information. I’m really glad we have these vets so close by. Most honest vet we've found, Ben is very knowledgeable and knows how to deal with any kind of dog. We have a handful German shepherd and that's not a problem.. other vets just refuse to see him because he is not a fluffy little thing. He is also someone that won't waste our money, other places would jump right to an operation and make the most of it and he doesn't.. and this was actually why we found him. 5 stars and rare to find nowadays... thank you for everything. Unfortunately I wasn't happy with the vet and had to change vets. Not very sympathetic and felt that he was there just to do a job. Rather expensive and didn't have the set up to operate on my pet but would do so if that was the only option or take payment for referrals to far out vets miles away. I will say he is knowledgeable however moved to another vet for a second opinion and which was more suitable for my pet, more sympathetic and had the set up to operate on my pet with nurses on hand during the operation to assist in all matters. I took my 10 week old Beagle x Lab puppy in for his vaccinations, I used to be with a big chain vets and decided to change and I was so impressed with the personal service I received from both the receptionist Kay and Ben (the vet). I have 3 dogs and never have I received such in depth information regarding their behavior during a simple vaccination appointment. Ben is clearly a vet who genuinely cares about animals. I took my kitten here at 7weeks old (I had been told she was older) she was suffering from cat flu and had all the common symptoms. I just assumed she'd be given some medicine and be okay, but the vet insisted if she wasn't better in a week I put her down! This broke my heart, I decided to go to another vet who was shocked by this suggestion, gave me some medication and advise, she is now a thriving 10 month old, happy and healthy. Read Less

My large male Mastiff has been seeing Ben since he was 6 weeks old when we adopted him. Even though we now live over the other side of Nottingham we have kept him and our other animals with Ben because going to the vets is actually a treat for him. Having such a large dog can be tricky to get to the vets and co-operation is a must to get him treated but my dog loves visiting the vets! Ben and his team are brilliant and nothing is too much trouble, the trouble comes when I try and get my dog to leave then! If my dog is eager to visit the vets and Ben then I think that speaks volumes about their care.. Read Less

Ben is a fantastic vet- patient, pragmatic and puts the animals first. We feel very fortunate to be able to have a bird expert nearby - we are first time bird owners, so really appreciate the guidance and time Ben puts in (not to mention his patience with our questions etc!). Visited today for the first time and at very short notice due to having an issue with my little macaw and with this vets being on the parrot society board it was a no brainer (as avarian vets are pretty rare). I was very impressed with Bens knowledge and friendly approach to dealing with animals, he truly loves animals and you can clearly see it! Took his time to explain everything to me and i was in there just over an hour! My sisters Kitten was a lovely playful kitten called Marley. She booked to have her neuterd so Marley could enjoy the outdoors. After a couple of hours of taking Marley to the Westdale lane vets my sister received a phonecall " it's bad news your kitten hasn't made it through the neutering operation ". When I rang to find out why such a loving healthy kitten had died in their care I found both the reception and vet very unsympathetic and rude (receptionist told me not to be rude although a cats dead in their care). No autopsy was done. The vet said he was sorry and it could of been a number of things (suspicious you cant tell us exactly why she died). Their tones of voice so cold. The vet at one point said " you listen to me " thats not how a vet should react after the death of a kitten. Maybe the kitten was to young an he didn't care as he asked no questions before the op. I dont really write reviews but this one deserved the cold 1 star for how cold my sister her kitten and I was treated! Read Less

My beloved dog was recently treated by Ben and his staff over a period of time. The quality of service and attention given to my dog was second to none.Nothing was too much trouble and Ben always took the time to explain everything to me in a way which i could understand. This enabled me to make informed choices throughout my dogs care. Unfortunately , my dogs illness was such that we made the decision to have him put to sleep .
