Absolutely fuming!!! My friends dog unfortunately got put down and they were meant to put her in the freezer but instead left her on the floor for 2 days because she was ‘too heavy’ then when she was meant to be sent to get cremated, they sent her to the wrong crematorium in Northampton instead of Nottingham and when her mum asked to get her back the best they could do is send the cleaner who threw her in a bag and chucked her in the back of the car, she was covered in her own faeces and crushed. Amazing care as always from the team at Ashfield House. From ringing up on Tuesday and being asked to come almost straight down for an urgent appointment, to Scone being admitted by Charlotte for 30hrs, I was kept informed how she was doing, what her results showed and was always reassured that Scone was in the best hands. We rushed our 5 y/o Maltese here as an emergency at midnight on Sunday the 8th of Jan, within an hour of him not being able to urinate due to a calcium-oxylate stone lodged in his urethra. Now, when treated immediately and adequately with surgery, medication and constant monitoring, the prognosis is good, however he took a sudden decline. What followed was incredibly stressful and painful for our beautiful boy and sadly we had to do the unthinkable. I genuinely think that although Ashfield operate in a compassionate manner, I'm not convinced that the person who was responsible for him when I took him in acted swiftly enough. I also believe that there was a lack of knowledge regarding the Maltese breed across the surgeons and nurses, as a result I believe some of his symptoms were misunderstood. I have learnt much from this experience. If you are looking for generic care for your pets, Ashfield will probably suffice. But if you need somewhere in an emergency that can really make a difference when it matters, in my opinion you should look elsewhere. (I haven't mentioned names here because that would be unreasonable of me, despite the upset).Read Less
