We have been with this veterinary practice well before Andrew with Martin Grace and they are excellent practitioners. Both groups over 30 years have been very supportive. Jennifer Goode treated our dog with such good professionalism, care and attention to detail. She was an amazing practitioner, dedicated and applied good knowledge to practice. She understood her clients needs and fears. She helped us with excellent advice appropriately decide how to help our dog with an illness which was very unexpected. Andrew's practice is outstanding , caring and empathetic. I highly recommend them. Hilary Righton Read Less

We've always had a positive experience with both the Carlton and Plains branches. Very friendly, always open to answering daft questions from a nervous owner and they actually care for our dog Bilbo.

I have always used Oak House Vets at the Carlton branch. I had to take my Westie (Peaches) to the Plains Road branch on Saturday for an urgent appointment. The staff were absolutely fantastic with Peaches who was in a lot of pain and unable to urinate. The Vet Angele was so thorough and explained each step as to what she proposed to do to help Peaches, as well as support me as her owner. I was updated at each stage & felt overwhelmed at Angele's professionalism & expert advice. Angele and Liz were looking after Peaches and treating for 3 hours even after the practice had closed. I cannot thank them enough for going that extra mile in my eyes in caring for my best friend. Although they only think they are doing their jobs, I believe they are truly special for what they have done for us. I would definitely recommend Oak House Vets without a doubt. THANK YOU once again not only to Angele and Liz, but the whole teamRead Less

I'm shocked and appalled by what I experienced at this practice and would strongly advise anybody to go elsewhere.
I took my cat in because she had a sniffly nose and a cold. The vet inspected her and said she'd got a gum infection and needed to have ALL of her large teeth removed, leaving her with just a few front ones (she's only 3 years old). She gave me a quote of over 350 to have this done.
I wasn't keen on the idea of my cat living with no teeth so I took her to another vet for a 2nd opinion. I didn't tell them I had already had the above diagnosis. They told me she's got a mild gum infection and had strong, clean teeth and a week's course of antibiotics would clear it up. I paid 21 for the consultation and medicine and a week later the infection had started to clear up and now it is totally gone.
I believe Oak House Veterinary practice over-charge and emotionally black-mailed me to get me to pay a large amount for traumatic surgery which would have a life-long impact on my cat, just so they could get more money. I am truly appalled and shocked at this and am furious that they could have convinced me to go ahead with the procedure and my poor cat would be chewing with her gums for the rest of her life.
To make matters even worse, to treat the cold I was charged over 90, however my cat recovered after 2 days without taking any of the medicine.
Absolutely disgraceful. Appalling practice which in my opinion does not have the welfare of animals as a priority. I will never go back. Read Less

My experience has been totally different - this vet saved one of my cat's life with an instant and very tricky operation to remove a large malignant tumour from her back, and the research and aftercare they did to give the cat the best chance was outstanding. She loved another 5 happy years. Their ongoing support to our other cats, including a big emergency last summer, and their compassion when we inevitably lose one as they age have also been great. I know you can buy medication (and other stuff) much cheaper on the web than from any vet, including "human" drugs, but I wouldn't give the latter to my children unless I knew the source, so I wouldn't risk it on the cats either, as I don't have the pharmaceutical expertise. However, we each have a right to make our own choices. Read Less
