Welcome to Avonvale Equine Practice. We are committed to providing high quality veterinary care for horses, ponies and donkeys. Our veterinary and nursing teams have a broad range of equine expertise and enthusiasm and are always available for advice. Based in Ratley, nr Banbury we cover a vast area including Warwickshire, Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire, Leicestershire and the West Midlands. Conveniently located near the M40 junction 12 we have a fully equipped surgical facility as well as up to date mobile diagnostic equipment. We offer free zone visits for routine appointments.

I have been with avonvale vets for years now and I am extremely happy with the service I had a horse that had a really bad infection other vets had found the rather large stick that had imp ailed his neck but failed to find on the same side of his neck a piece that had broken off avonvale found it he had his operation to remove the part that had been left in but found another part which he would need to be operated again unfortunately my horse wasn't up to another op as he nearly lost his life from the first op by the time we had found out what had happened and found the pieces it was to late as he was riddled with infection he had to be put to sleep my point here is they are thorough and take great care of the animals in there care they supported me from start to finish if he'd have gone there in the beginning he would still be here today instead of going to a local Wolverhampton equine vets they may be a little far from me but they always get someone out to me I would never use another equine vet and would take them to them if I needed to 100% satisfaction every time

A quick thank you to Claire Sawyer, for helping out in an emergency, when my husband's car had a collision with a large stag on a local road. She did what had to be done for the stag calmly and efficiently, which helped so much in a very distressing situation.

Lynwood Stud was established 70 years ago. We rely on Avonvale for all our Stud work. They have an excellent success rate with both chilled and frozen AI work. If my valued mares and foals are at the practice I can rest assured that they are getting the 5 star treatment.

As a dressage and event rider, breeder and trainer I can highly recommend Avonvale Equine Practice. We have been using them for many years for both our breeding yard and for the competition yard. I don't have enough good things I could say about Avonvale Vets. They have been incredible through a very long investigation with my special horse. They have been friendly professional understanding and downright perfect! Could not wish for anything to change. My horse is now happily being ridden, after several points this year when I had run out of options and was struggling with where to turn next. I am so glad Dubh was referred to Avonvale as it has saved her life. Incredible vet practice with amazing staff, super facilities, and perfectly formulated medicines. THANK YOU! :)

I have used Avonvale for a long time, and they have always been fantastic. Last month my pony had to stay there for a night and have a tooth taken out he loved his stay also his little friend stayed too. It was nice of Avonvale to allow. Then this week my other was put to sleep Claire was absolutely amazing. The next day I had a card from Avonvale sorry for my loss what a lovely thing to do. X

I just wanted to say a big thank you to laura from avonvale. After chatting to her about my rather excitable mare who can be insecure at times, she recommended a product called Confidence EQ. It has now been tried and tested and I have to say it is fabulous. My mare has now found a happy little place in her head and the situations that would ordinarily make her insecure are becoming a thing of the past. If it wasn't for laura I would not have tried the product that I would now happily recommend to anyone. Thank you for listening laura and thank you for the recommendation.

Hi, just to say a massive thank-you. Having used you for 16 years through several disasters, but normally seeing John. I booked my horse in for zone day and greeted poor Laura 'your not John!' A little surprised. However i was so impressed with Laura she truly cared about the issues my stressy horse has and took the time to treat her as a 'person'. Thank-you it means a lot to know you have the support of a great vet and i apologise Laura you are a good John! Thank-you to all the team who have Lways been great! Karen & JJ (stress tb!)

I don't have enough good things I could say about Avonvale Vets. They have been incredible through a very long investigation with my special horse. They have been friendly professional understanding and downright perfect! Could not wish for anything to change. Last month my pony had to stay there for a night and have a tooth taken out he loved his stay also his little friend stayed too. It was nice of Avonvale to allow. I just wanted to say a big thank you to laura from avonvale. After chatting to her about my rather excitable mare who can be insecure at times, she recommended a product called Confidence EQ. It has now been tried and tested and I have to say it is fabulous.
