Excellent well mannered kind and considerate reception staff. I've only met a couple of their vets but my dogs recieved First Class treatments which included thorough check-ups and lifesaving surgeries twice (2 different dogs) within the same year. I cannot fault this branch of Larkmead Vets and thoroughly recommend them. Read Less

Travelled 20 miles round tip in 34 degrees boiling heat for check ups for my cat and dog. Arrived 10 minutes late and was turned away. I have never gone in on time for a vets appointment before, have alway had to sit and wait for around 15 minutes to be seen. Unfair for the animals in the heat. Surely could have fitted me in. Sadly a veterinary practice which should be avoided. Having put my trust in this vet to care for my beloved Yorkshire Terrier who suffered from instantaneous paralysis of the rear legs, all without signs of a physical injury. The vet locked onto the idea it was caused by damage to the spinal cord due to bone inpreachment despite a history of seizures, all without full and detailed diagnosis of the issue, which I subsequently found out could be caused by an number of issues. I requested specialists to be involved as and when required, even asking for referral to the royal vetinary college as money was no issue, only my dogs wellbeing. Again I trusted the vet who subsequently operated on her, opening her up from almost base of neck to within centimetres of the tail, claiming to have removed bone from the central region of the spinal cord. After said operation my dogs wellbeing began to deteriorate, and upon my visit to see her I stated she was having problems with breathing, despite conversations with the vet regarding her release from the clinic that day, something which I actively refused given her condition. Sadly 2 days later my dog passed away, alone and clearly in pain and distress from her anguished look. I was informed at the time she stopped breathing whilst the nurse was attending to other animals, again if I'd known things were that critical I would have gladly paid for a dedicated nurse to care for my dog. Having now discussed this case with many other vets, its believed she passed away due to most likely pneumonia following on from the operation, of which could have been treated and her death avoided. Needless to say a formal complaint has been raised as I'd not wish any other pets to suffer due to the negligence of this veterinary practice. Read Less

This vets can always fit you in same day if it's urgent, sometimes at less than an hours notice. Our dog has been with them the last two years and our hamsters before that. The staff are kind and helpful. They are used by many dog owners on the new GWP development and surrounding areas. They have a good monthly pet plan which includes wormers and some injections etc and discount off food and spaying etc. Our only experiences which took a star off was that it took quite a few trips back to the vets post spay for them to take her pain seriously. They said they give 24hr cover before she goes home but she had an awful time days later. I'm stark contrast a colleagues dog was given dog equivalent to Paracetamol and Tramadol post surgery. Very disappointed with this but I know now to push harder for pain relief if she ever is to need it again. Read Less
