At Shepton Vets we recognise that your pet is a member of the family and strive to treat them as if they were our own.
Founded in 1922 we are a well established practice and our team of receptionists, nurses and vets serve the community in a professional and friendly manner.
Our purpose built surgery can be found in quiet surroundings in the heart of Shepton Mallet.
The surgery has ample parking, a spacious friendly waiting area and a friendly reception team waiting to greet you on your arrival.
For your pet we provide modern medical facilities with a fully equipped surgical theatre, X-ray and ultrasound suite, separate kennels and cattery, as well as onsite laboratory and dental equipment.
Our clinical team is lead by four experienced vets who have a range of interests that span both medical and surgical disciplines.
They are supported by our team of fully qualified and student veterinary nurses who themselves offer consultations to support ongoing treatment plans as well as assisting with behavioural advice.
At the practice we want to cater for all of your pet care needs, and so provide 24 hour emergency cover to help you and your pet during those most stressful episodes.
We also offer a wide range of products and services through the practice to help keep your pet in the very best of health, and are always happy to give advice on these to tailor them to your specific needs.

Fantastic, friendly and helpful veterinary practice. Can't recommend enough. My cat was extremely poorly and quite honestly, we were not sure he was going to make it. Greg and the team were wonderful....
Fantastic, friendly and helpful veterinary practice. Can't recommend enough. My cat was extremely poorly and quite honestly, we were not sure he was going to make it. Greg and the team were wonderful. They provided very regular updates and my cat recieved amazing care. The team really care about your pets and that's exactly what you need when your furry friends are poorly. My mum also takes her cats to this surgery and rates them very highly. My cat is now on the mend and I'm super grateful. Thanks so much team!

Would highly recommend. Can't fault this place, prices are reasonable & staff are very knowledgeable. Usually been able to get a appointment within a day or two.

Had my male (Willie) and female (Narla) cats neutered and microchipped on the 22nd February and they were brilliant with all the information needed and very thorough checks, we went for there two day check up today and I just wanted to say that the lady i saw today was brilliant with helping me get the right wormer tablets and for giving my male an xtra injection because he was still a bit sore thankyou all again, and well done on always having friendly and helpful staff on hand.

Just had my cocker spaniel Lottie spayed, everyone has been brilliant, having keyhole made recovery so much easier. Having my dog operated on as my first visit with the practice the vet reassured me and eased my worry. Have also visited with my 2 other dogs since and he was brilliant with there needs to. I'm just glad I have found a vet that I can trust to help me care for the health of my animals.

Jake hadn't been hit by a car, he had heart failure- at 5 years old Today we recieved a lovely card from Greg and the team saying sorry for our loss.A lovely hand written touch. I couldn't of asked for a better service. His brother Milo is missing him to Thank you all xxxx

Went to the vets for the first time today with my baby bearded dragon Bash and it was lovely, Greg was a really nice guy & both me and my dad liked him, he was definitely a huge help in calming any fears we had about Bashs health, not sure Bash enjoyed his check-up very much though, but then again what animal does? I bet he enjoyed meeting all the staff though. Thanks!

Our bayleigh (our 11 yr old gsd x) has been seeing the vets here all her life and she gets a first class service. Particular thanks to Greg for introducing us to some complimentary supplements for her arthritis which have helped no end and a huge big thank you to Martin for saving her life with the removal of a horrid, big tumour. The after care was also stellar and despite what she's been through she still has a wag of the tail for him. Thank you to all the other staff involved too. She is our family and you truly understand that. Wouldn't go anywhere else

We have used this practice for the last 23 years, and have always had superb service from them! Recently, we have needed to visit them more frequently as our 12 year old Cairn has had a variety of ail...
We have used this practice for the last 23 years, and have always had superb service from them! Recently, we have needed to visit them more frequently as our 12 year old Cairn has had a variety of ailments, including 2 cruciate ligament tears and very recently behavioural problems.....the latter dealt with by Emma, whose understanding and knowledge of even this area of vets work, solved the problem with just a telephone conversation! Many grateful thanks to all of you! Barbara, Don and Honey.

Thankfully I have not had many reasons to attend the vets, as my pets have had no need, other than the normal annual vaccinations and a couple of minor illnesses - but when I have I have always been greeted with a smiley welcome. The vets are fantastic and very down to earth, whilst maintaining a professional manner.
They are also very reasonable as far as fees are concerned - I can't fault them and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a vet in this area.
Thanks Shepton Vets for doing such a great job!

We have had a very poorly dog for 2 months, one thing lead to another.
Shepton Vets have been amazing... many...many phone calls, sometimes 3 visits a day, calls at midnight, getting the vet out, Greg...
We have had a very poorly dog for 2 months, one thing lead to another.
Shepton Vets have been amazing... many...many phone calls, sometimes 3 visits a day, calls at midnight, getting the vet out, Greg and his team have been through this with us all the way.
My dog is now well, and a shining star at the vets. I've aged 10 years but without the team at Shepton Vets it might be a different story.
Highly Recommended.

If you love your pets take them elsewhere. They ignored symptoms that I reported, and then refused to take responsibility as the vet in question "couldn't recall me reporting them" and couldn't recal...
If you love your pets take them elsewhere. They ignored symptoms that I reported, and then refused to take responsibility as the vet in question "couldn't recall me reporting them" and couldn't recall using broken equipment on my cat. There's a good vets in Wells. Go to them. Anywhere but Shepton.

Greg and the team were wonderful. They provided very regular updates and my cat recieved amazing care. The team really care about your pets and that's exactly what you need when your furry friends are poorly. My mum also takes her cats to this surgery and rates them very highly. Went to the vets for the first time today with my baby bearded dragon Bash and it was lovely, Greg was a really nice guy & both me and my dad liked him, he was definitely a huge help in calming any fears we had about Bashs health, not sure Bash enjoyed his check-up very much though, but then again what animal does? Thankfully I have not had many reasons to attend the vets, as my pets have had no need, other than the normal annual vaccinations and a couple of minor illnesses - but when I have I have always been greeted with a smiley welcome. The vets are fantastic and very down to earth, whilst maintaining a professional manner.
