This is a place I have used for nearly 3 years but never again. Basically my partner was given the option of either pay a bill in full right away or they were going to put our £2000.00 pedigree Boston Terrier to sleep. She was not offered a payment plan as done in the past so spent the next 20 - 40 mins having to phone around friends to get the bill paid thus saving the life of our dog. This was nothing short of extortion, pay up or the dog dies. This action was bordering on criminal if not crossing the line. They justified all this by saying it was their policy, when has extortion become a working policy for a business like this. I thought they were meant to care about animals not want to destroy them when they can't get their money. I will now be taking my animals to another vets with a much better reputation if not a bit more expensive. Read Less

Have been going here for last 5 years and thought they were an excellent vets but have changed my opinion recently, my dog has had 3 operations here, one of which was life saving. After her last operation they failed to give her enough pain medication and she suffered for 24 hours until I could give her the next dose. A few months ago I took her in for a checkup as she had turned 13, they said she had an infection caused by fleas even though the vet never found any but said she found flea dirt, I disputed this as she has never had fleas in whole life but they insisted I treat her for fleas and that she needed a course of steriods, the bill came to £53 and I only had £50 on me so paid that and asked if I could pop back the next day with the other £3 they said that was fine but would not give me the steriods until I had paid the £3 despite the fact that they have had nearly £1000 for the 3 operations she has had with them. They then said that I should spray my flat with flea spray which would have been another £20. I thought that their obligation was the welfare of the animal but all they seemed to care about was how much money they could get from me. Recently my mum took her dog there as he had a lump come up under his eye, they diagnosed it as an absis, they removed a tooth and gave him antibiotics. After 2 weeks he still had it so she took him back and saw a different vet he still said it was an absis and gave him more antibiotics, after another 2 weeks it was still the same so back for a third time and another different vet, he diagnosed it as a cist and recommended more antibiotics and if that didn't work he would need it removed, my mum said she wasn't going to pay for more antibiotics as previous two lots had done nothing so he was booked in for operation to remove it in a weeks time. After a few days she decided that she wanted a second opinion so took him to different vets, the vet took one look at it and said I can tell you straight away it's a tumour. After having it tested it turned out to be benign, luckily, but because of vets for pets she paid them nearly £500 for treatment and operation to remove his tooth which he never needed and the cost of second vet she went to. She informed vets for pets that she had gone to another vets, they have refused to acknowledge they misdiagnosed twice and charged for unnecessary treatment and will not refund any money. After mine and my mums experience I would not recommend them and will probably not go there again. Read Less

We still get excellent service, especially from the reception team, and the costs are definitely cheaper especially with the 'Vaccinations for life' deal. People comment that you get "ripped off sooner or later, that's how they make their money"
But we are yet to experience this.

I’ve been taking my pup there since I got her and they have been brilliant, they offer packages so you can have cheaper care for your animals. However the only complaint I do have is that the company have a policy for paying as you visit, they do not have an invoice or credit system meaning that when my puppy was ill and I had no money they refused to see her rather than let me pay at the end of the month (5 days later). This is however a fault of the company rather than the individual practice, they are brilliant. Read Less
