We don't normally make the effort to leave reviews but this place definitely deserves 5 stars (if not more!) following our experience with them today. We are down here on holiday and our dog became very unwell overnight. We spoke to the lovely receptionist/nurse in the morning who was able to book us in and reassured us that we could bring our dog in as an emergency if his symptoms got worse. Once we were there the vet and the receptionist/nurse were so gentle and caring we felt reassured that our dog would be in safe hands - you could see that they genuinely cared and put us at ease straight away. Barry Animal Health Centre (Andre - the vet & the receptionist/nurse [I'm sorry we didn't catch your name]) - We cannot thank you enough for today and keep up the fantastic work you are doing. I was in the horrible position of having to have my 15 year old dog put to sleep last year, having had him from a puppy, and I cant express strongly enough how kind and supportive the vet and his assistant were at an extremely traumatic time.

I took my 12 year old dog in for routine injections, and was talked into a series of tests. We were told he had severe diabetes and must either have very expensive in-patient treatment or, if we 'were not willing to fund the treatment' should have him put down sooner rather than later. As he seemed quite well I asked to repeat the test, and when they declined I had the test done at another vet, who found everything normal. We monitored his blood for some time and there were no problems. I was treated very rudely wen I complained to the animal Health Centre. The dog lived for another 4 years in good health before developing arthritis which led to his demise.

I was spoken down to, My business discussed in the waiting room, I left feeling an inch tall I could say that the vets professionalism was not there! Please think before going there because if your animal has been eating out of a bowl material that this veterinarian doesn't like then they will let you know that your doing it all wrong! Also if your animal is young and just the right age to be brought to the vet because you need to flee and worm them then this particular vet will make sure they talk down to you! Asking you why our animal has flee's at all! I'm sorry I can't help that I thought the place I got my animal was meant to be clean! So excuse me for wanting to make sure my animals health is good.

We don't normally make the effort to leave reviews but this place definitely deserves 5 stars (if not more!) following our experience with them today. We are down here on holiday and our dog became very unwell overnight.
