I've been using these for most of my dogs life, they knew of her so I used them when the time came to have her put down with ashes returned, regardless of the high price. Firstly I was quoted the wrong price & then told it would be £80 more! The tough day came and they made us wait 15 mins after the appointment which was obviously hard under the circumstances. Then after she was put to sleep we were told to take our time, say bye & call them when we were done. A few minutes later the vet came back in and made us feel rushed. So we left the room rushed, upset & paid the high cost with no sympathy, just a request for payment. We were repeatedly told 1 week and we'd have the ashes back, I called after a week and was told no and they would call us! 2 weeks later we had to call & finally got her ashes back. We were also rudely told it's always been 2 weeks and not a week! I feel so let down & I'll never use them again and I'll tell my big circle of family and friends to avoid. Read Less

I'm not from Cardiff and I got my rabbit about a month ago, so all I had to go on when choosing a vets was these google reviews! I am so glad I went with the reviews here, as the service I've got has been outstanding. I've met with two different vets on three occasions and every time they were very professional, punctual, caring, confident, experienced and just everything I needed to feel reassured even though I was worried sick. The receptionists are also very cheerful and eager to help! The consultation costs are reasonable compared to some, as well, and it is also pretty easy to find - another thing I was worried about. Imagine a red setter dog; who is old in his years, he isn't dying yet, but he has a nasty broken leg all bandaged up. He's a large dog that was largely loved. I must have been around eight years old if not younger than that at the time, when grandma and granddad visit us in Cardiff with their dog. Kelly was his name... he was gorgeous and used to play with him many times even when he was old. He hurt his ankle whilst they stayed with and so we took him down to Penylan's veterinary and the vet people were very good with him and they were very quick in trying to get him mended again. Grandma was in tears and those of us who went with the dog had to say good bye there and then because he was so poorly by then, being old an all... It is such a sad thing to be a part of: the time when you have to say good bye to an adorable pet who you have had many memories with, but at least we got time to do so... And then it wasn't and ending to a life that was too tragic; unlike for my brother's cat, but that is another story... Enjoy your time with them to the full whilst you still can for time and life are both very precious towards all life. I recommend this place to all animal lovers. Read Less
