Right from the start Valley Vets have been absolutely amazing at both Cardiff and Ystrad Mynach! Misty started off seeing Mark and after a lot of examinations and a trip to Highcroft in Bristol we found out about her spinal issues. This was dealt with great care over the next year by all staff with Mark being available by phone as often as possible. When Mark stopped consulting we decided to just stay closer to home and come to Ystrad. The whole team in Ystrad were amazing again. Even when she started having liver issues. Our main vet being either Lauren or Dave. Although Misty is no longer with us the dedication given by everyone and the support when she passed without warning was 100%. Having had pets for many years and can honestly say this is the best vet practice I have ever been registered with. The kindness and compassion is phenomenal and we have always been treated as part of the family. The understanding offered from every single member of staff is exemplary. Through thick and thin, highs and lows, they have been there for our pets. Too many kindnesses to mention each one, and every member of staff has been wonderful. Even when we experienced a tragedy, the staff made our return with other pets bearable, which I thought would be impossible. They treat every animal as an individual and welcome them as though they belonged there always. Hugely knowledgable staff, and vetinary care of great expertise. I can not thank the team at Ystrad Mynach enough for everything they did to save my little boy's life! My cat, Frankie, was hit by a car 18th August and although I was registered with a different vets at the time, Ystrad was the closest and quickest to get to in such an emergency. From the moment I got there, the reception staff could see the severity of Frankie's condition and quickly carried him through to the crash team, an then came back to calm me down as I was a mess too! Over the next few days, there was constant, clear information given to us over the phone and face to face and nothing was too much bother for them. We really felt like the team were there for us. When we were able to bring Frankie home after his surgery to repair his broken jaw, the care and support didn't end there, whenever we had a problem at home, day or night, the staff were available at the end of the phone to give advice and support or even just reassurance. Thanks to the amazing team at Ystrad Mynach, Frankie is now doing remarkably well and every day is becoming more and more like himself again. Thank you so much again.Read Less

Words cannot express our gratitude to Gordon and his amazing team at Valleyvets Caerphilly. They have looked after our two goodies Will 11 years old and Rosie 3 since they were pups. Will has suffered with arthritis for a few years but thanks to his medication has been happy and pain free. However at the end of last year his arthritis became much worse and he became unable to weightbear on his back leg causing him to be in a lot of pain. He was referred to Bristol animal hospital where he had the bones in his leg fused. While there he became very distressed and chewed at the wire cage causing a lot of damage to his mouth and teeth. We were so pleased to bring him home where under the care of Valleyvets, his mouth was treated and several teeth had to be removed. Not long after this, Will began vomiting and following an endoscopy was found to have a stricture in his oesophagus causing problems with swallowing. During the months that Will has been poorly, the whole team has been amazing. They are professional and have provided excellent care and prompt treatment. They have treated Will with kindness and respect, and have been exceptionally supportive and reassuring during a very stressful time. I have been a client of Valley Vets in Cardiff for nearly 30 years.This is a really excellent independent, vet-owned practice. All of the staff are friendly, kind, calm, reassuring, caring and extremely professional. They make you feel your pet is the most important animal in the world .You are never rushed. They listen to you. The vets keep abreast of new developments in veterinary science, attend further training and offer advanced levels of procedures and techniques. They are always willing to refer to specialists and to seek second opinions from colleagues.The receptionists are always very welcoming.The nursing staff are knowledgable, helpful and nothing is too much trouble for them. The emergency vet service for Cardiff -VETS- is based at the same premises as Valley Vets. I find this particularly reassuring as it means my dogs do not have to be moved from one practice to another if they are kept in overnight. I cannot praise Valley Vets enough for all the treatment provided, and care shown, over the years to my dogs and a cat. I frequently recommend the practice to pet owners. Read Less

I've been going to this practice for many years now with our multiple ferrets! Service is always amazing and you will be remembered by all the staff. It's a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere and the vets are very knowledgeable on ferrets, which is great as not many practices deal with them! Prices can be a little high, but well worth it for the knowledge and treatment our ferrets receive. Surgeries have always been neat and our ferrets have always been happy and excitable as if nothing had happened. I joined this practice with my beloved Tibetan Terrier some three years ago, and even though they are a long way (22miles) from my home it is worth every minute of the journey time. My dog has previously hated going to the vet, but at Valley Vets he pulls to get in, calling out excitedly to his favourite receptionist on the way in. All the vets we have seen have been, without exception, kindly, patient, thorough, and expert, and I would heartily recommend this practice to any owner of whatsoever animal. Read Less
