I have transferred my pets from this awful place after my cat was rushed in on Monday. Tuesday I was told she’s now fine, back to normal, eating and drinking. I brought her home, she fell asleep, sadly she deteriorated so badly. The next morning I took her to a different vet who said their treatment is questionable. She was so ill and was either suffering neurologically or had kidney failure. Either way? She was never well enough to be discharged and definitely not ‘back to normal’. Sadly, the only option I had left was to put my baby to sleep. I am complaining to the RCVS and highly suggest this surgery is looked at, if you care for your pets I suggest using a different vet Read Less

Unfortunately as this vet is so close to me, it’s with regret I have had to transfer my 3 pets from this surgery which is 2 minute drive from me to 1 that is 25 minute drive. The reason I’ve had to do this is that the staff are shockingly rude and unhelpful. I was told by the elder receptionist who is the worst that my dog is a ‘wimpy’ breed. I don’t need someone who is suppose to love animals telling me that I have a wimpy dog. They run out of the standard flea and worm treatment quite a lot and as all 3 of my pets are on a complete care plan, I need to pick this up every 3 months. They won’t order in, call you when it’s in, keep it there to collect on the same day and when you ask why not, they are just plain rude. For me it’s basic customer service but clearly I have higher expectations than the staff there!! My dog is due to be spayed soon and I will not under any circumstance let these rude, arrogant and unfriendly people around my dog. I don’t trust them and they just don’t feel like they are animal loves, your made to feel like your an inconvenience to them so goodbye, I’ll go to another surgery that cares about animals and service!! IF YOU WANT A CARING, COMPASSIONATE VETERINARY SURGERY AVOID THIS ONE I'd leave a zero rating if I could. The staff at this vets practice are rude, unhelpful and down right miserable. Whenever you contact them you're made to feel they are doing you a favour. What they fail to remember is we are contacting them for help when we have serious concerns about our pets. My puppy became registered with this vets because of the start up puppy plan. Now when reading the plan it stated my puppy would have a full health check at her first appointment with the vet. Time wasn't taken on her and she didn't do the full vet as she was suppose to from her eyes to her toes. Since that first appointment my puppy has been nothing but scrounging and after some advice and some help I booked her in for an anal canal clean. Due to her being a Chihuahua at 6 months old the glands are small and the nurse could only detract some fluid (I mean just on the end of her finger) so as it couldn't be done thoroughly I didn't expect to be charged but the nurse stated I still had to pay cause she still inserted her finger. Really unhappy with this but being the quiet person I am I paid the £14 for nothing. Ringing back up today the same nurse answered and I ask again about why I paid and I didn't agree she stated that the payment still stands. So I moved on from this and asked about what can be done or given to my puppy to stop her grounging like she does, even to wear I didn't get to her in time and she ate a wet wipe whole! Thankfully she wasn't harmed and disposed of it a few days later. The nurse said I'd have to speak to a vet see if they have any advice or what could be done. But at £32 It's all money and no free advice like other vets. My puppy will be moving to park vets now as I know we can get more time given to her. Read Less

I've transferred all of my pets away from Ely Vets4Pets in Cardiff because they and us deserve better treatment, to actually be made better by visiting the vet...The only thing that's been made better from us visiting this veterinary surgery, is the surgeries bank account. The receptionists are unhelpful, impolite, abrupt, rude and uncaring, they should not be in a customer facing role when she has as much empathy as the AIDS virus particularly the old one. The main Vet Hannah has failed to correctly diagnose THREE out of FIVE separate conditions with our cats and kittens in the last year and the prices for treatment and visits are at least 30% higher than there we've transferred to. In her vocabulary (price list) does not exist the term follow up appointment, as she's never been interested in knowing how the pets are after the treatment that she prescribed, etc. Do not make your pets suffer unnecessarily, go to a "proper" vets and not this place.
