I had the most upsetting experience when I took my cat to West Farm Veterinary Clinic.  A bite wound on the cat's back had previously been treated by this vet but had subsequently turned septic.  The area was VERY tender and painful.  The vet decided to shave the affected area despite my protestations - the result was a traumatised cat in great pain and a long, deep scratch on my hand.  I asked the vet to administer a pain killer to my cat but he was afraid the cat might attack him - I assured him this would not happen - he reluctantly inserted a hypodermic needle into my beautiful cat and instantly let go of it so it was hanging from my cat's body - he eventually returned to the job in hand and injected the contents into my cat.  I was so upset at this level of incompetence that I refused to pay the £30-odd bill which I am now being pursued for.
