General Info
Ashby Veterinary Group consists of the Ashby Road branch and practices located in Crowle and Epworth.
The practice is RCVS Accredited (Tier 2) and is a recognised Veterinary Nurse training practice. This means that owners and their pets are assured that the highest levels of patient care and diagnostic equipment will be provided as part of our service.
We offer a range of diagnostic services including X-rays, ultrasound, ECG, endoscopy and full in house laboratory with biochemistry, haematology and electrolyte blood tests. We have well-equipped surgical facilities and anaesthetic monitoring equipment, catering for procedures from routine neutering and dentistry, to more complicated orthopaedic or thoracic surgery.
We also have a 2nd opinion cardio-respiratory referral service run by our cardiologist, Laurence J. Brown BVMS Cert VC MRCVS, who has over 14 years of experience in the diagnosis and assessment of cardiac disease.
Our experienced veterinary nurses are on hand to give advice on the best preventative healthcare. Free nursing clinics on topics such as weight, dental care/hygiene, flea control and worming are available. A pet taxi service is also available to bring you and your pet to the surgery.

One of our pugs has been diagnosed with serious breathing difficulties.
The vet at Ashcroft I spoke to regarding a referral to a specialist centre could not have been nicer. He was so, SO kind, caring and understanding. I was genuinely touched by his kindness, especially as I was terribly upset and worried about my beautiful pug, Bear.
I can't express my gratitude enough.

I rang up this morning to ask for advice, I had an appointment within half an hour, it was torrential rain and I was soaked when I got to the vets, the receptionist gave me paper towels and helped me get dry! The vet was excellent explaining what was wrong with my daughter's dog and how she wanted to treat him, she was so gentle and spoke to Milly all the time. The nurse offered to give Milly her tablet she needed to take today which would make her more comfortable, she got her to take it better than i could. It was still raining and the nurse put her coat on, got an umbrella and walked to the car with me! Thank you so much to you all for the excellent and friendly service, you went above and beyond!

I recently had to have my cat put to sleep. I told them I wanted him individually cremated but they filled the form in wrong. Luckily when the vet went through the back I checked the form and noticed ...
I recently had to have my cat put to sleep. I told them I wanted him individually cremated but they filled the form in wrong. Luckily when the vet went through the back I checked the form and noticed this. I told them and they just scribbled over the marked boxes and ticked the individual cremation one I wanted. I wasn't happy with this and asked them to use a new form with just individual cremation ticked. They then did this. They also made another important mistake. I was asked what writing I wanted on my cats casket when I got him back. I wanted his name, date of birth to his passing date and the words deeply loved. When I knew my cat had arrived at the pet crematorium I phoned them to check everything with them. Ashcroft Veterinary Surgery and only sent my cats name to be put on his casket. I changed vets the very next day with my dog.

The nurses and receptionists are all very thoughtful and helpful but we were allocated a locum vet (from Ghana) who didn't speak English to anything near an acceptable level. We couldn't properly understand what she told us which leads me to suppose she didn't understand us either. The advice and instructions we thought we'd received were contradicted almost in their entirety by the receptionist on leaving who told us that the vet was a locum so she didn't really understand their practices. This used to be a really caring practice but it's gone downhill in recent years.

We transfered our two dogs to Ashby Road after continual bad experiences elsewhere. Today has proven that this was absolutely the right decision! I am eight months pregnant and took my very anxious (and sometimes scrappy) dog for further treatment of an ongoing problem. Through no fault of his own my dog was attacked by another patient. The staff here were incredible in helping me out. Being pregnant, I'm not always able to lift my dog out of potentially harmful situations. This was noted very quickly and reception staff promptly came to help me deal with the scrap. They calmed my dog and opened an empty room for us to relax and gather ourselves after the event. Staff repeatedly came to see us to check the dog and I were both safe and healthy. I cannot thank Ashby Road Vets enough for their help and reassurance today.

New to the area ... i took 2 dogs for boosters and kennel cough. My previous vet charged by 80 for both dogs... this vet was 115!! The vet i saw told me my TT was overweight ( shes not she is fine) and needed to loose 1kg... then my GSD who is overweight was fine?! He wad also so scared of my friendly, obedience trained, GSD and stood in front of him and reached over his head on numerous occassions very nervously to introduce himself and stroke him!! Luckily for this vet i have trained my dog well and as a vet nurse myself, is used to been used for first aid courses etc.. so is used to been well handled. A less trained or more nervous dog wouldnt have taken too kindly to his approach!!

Saw a very lovely vet yesterday. My cat has a nasty cough. Beverly was so lovely and really understood that he's an oldish outside cat and coming to the vets is traumatic. He becomes very subdued when stressed but it's obvious he'd rather be a million miles away; the vet really got this. Fingers crossed the treatment works. Yesterday, excellent value for money I was pleasantly surprised.

Brought my nippy ferret here to get spayed,she's healed up with no complications :) the vets were very helpful and kind. When I came to pick her up I've noticed they put another blanket in the carrier to keep her cosy which I am grateful for:) the prices are affordable and don't have to wait long In the waiting room. Overall I'm very happy and will be registering all my pets with ashby vets :)

Theyre not bad, the Irish vet is great with animals, i really should have got her number!! Sometimes they tend to conflict with e other at the 2 branches, the vet nurses do a lot of the work, bit like I the nhs then..they saved my dawgs life. Top Marks. The accountant is a bit difficult, one rule for some, another rule for others.

We couldn't properly understand what she told us which leads me to suppose she didn't understand us either. I had to have both of my cats put to sleep today. The vet was so lovely, patient and kind and didn't rush me at all. Made a horrendous experience slightly less painful x

All the staff were polite and I and my puppy was seen on time in a very friendly place and knowledgeable staff.

Brought my nippy ferret here to get spayed,she's healed up with no complications :) the vets were very helpful and kind. When I came to pick her up I've noticed they put another blanket in the carrier...
Brought my nippy ferret here to get spayed,she's healed up with no complications :) the vets were very helpful and kind. When I came to pick her up I've noticed they put another blanket in the carrier to keep her cosy which I am grateful for:) the prices are affordable and don't have to wait long In the waiting room. Overall I'm very happy and will be registering all my pets with ashby vets :)

Good prices and very good at what they do. My dog lost all movement in her back legs, took her to the vets and they prescribed her metacam medicine which sorted everything.

Theyre not bad, the Irish vet is great with animals, i really should have got her number!! Sometimes they tend to conflict with e other at the 2 branches, the vet nurses do a lot of the work, bit like...

Sometimes they tend to conflict with e other at the 2 branches, the vet nurses do a lot of the work, bit like I the nhs then..they saved my dawgs life. Top Marks. The accountant is a bit difficult, one rule for some, another rule for others.
