On 10th October 2017 I visited this Branch, Crookes. My Cat, Buster had problems eating cat food. Had some distress with a tooth re his mouth. The Vet, Lucy attended to my Cat very professionally and assisted him/gave him some treatment that was needed. I was extremely happy with the service from Reception and the Vet who treated Buster, my Cat. It was my first visit with one of my Cats to this Branch, usually use Hallam Vets on Holme Lane, Hillsborough. I will be using Hallam Vets, Crookes again for my Cats to receive treatment if needed. One reason is for the easy access for Taxis, which I use. Unlike Branch, Holme Lane is not so easy access for Public Transport, cars or Taxis. Overall very pleased with both Branches though. My Cat is fine now is able to eat his Cat Food again alright without being distressed. Read Less

Thank you to all the staff at Hallam Veterinary Centre for the thoughtful condolence card I received after losing my beloved cat Chloe at 15 years old. I had been bringing Chloe to the centre for boosters and check ups every year since 2003. I was always greeted with a smile and received a professional and friendly service every time. Chloe needed cardiac investigations and treatment this year, and once again the care they gave her was brilliant. Can't recommend Hallam Veterinary Centre enough. Read Less

Our dog Beau who is only 3 years old has recently had a life threatening episode but it was picked up very quickly by the Hallam staff who acted on it immediately. We thought she had a simple urine infection after being unwell one afternoon. The next day she perked up but took her for a check up just to be on the safe side. After an examination a blood test was taken as Billy, the vet, was obviously concerned about her presenting symptoms and told me he would call me with the results later that evening. It was bad news - she had 0 platelets and could bleed out at any moment. She had to be rushed to the out of hours service for a potential blood transfusion and we needed a donor dog. Billy did his best for us and a Hallam nurse, Beki, came to the rescue. The vet at the out of hours service prepared us for the worst. She suspected an undiagnosed auto immune disorder was the culprit which could also cause problems with the transfusion. Beau was put on steroids and various other medication but due to unforeseen circumstances could not have the transfusion at that time. She pulled through the night and was transferred back to Hallam the next day where Lee took over her case. He put her on strict bed rest and a large amount of steroids and she remained stable. We thought we were making progress then she became anaemic and again needed a blood transfusion. Again Beki came to the rescue and the transfusion was successful. Beau perked up that much after the transfusion that unfortunately she started to become a little stir crazy in her kennel and we were asked, for her own safety, if we could bring her home and ensure strict rest. We have and she has slowly been improving since. Her blood test this morning shows her platelets are on the up but we still have a long way to go before she's back to full health. I can't even begin to thank the staff at Hallam enough for everything they have done. Beau was an unusual case but they're expertise got her through. She even still gets excited when she goes now she knows most of the staff there!Read Less
