Usually we've been ok with this vets and gone for years. Today I took my guineapig for a second opinion of another vet in charters practice at buttlane as seeing one on the sunday I was worried that the diagnosis for my piggie was inaccurate when his upper respiratory breathing became even worse overnight.I rushed him for an appointment and the vet pressed his chest with a stethoscope and state he was congested, I was given some syringes and sachets for decongestion ( no idea why i wasn't offered these the night before as I told the prior vet he sounded nasally and congested!) after expressing my concerns for how weak he was and how i'd noticed his lips were pale the vet noted they were blue and how weak he seemed and yet sent me away with what I had been given and been told to go buy a nebuliser to help him myself as if i wanted him on oxygen they had none at the buttlane practice and I'd have to travel to congleton to get him any help. Minutes after I left the practice and drove up the road to rush him home he began to choke on fluid and become floppy , dying in my arms and I rushed him through the doors of my home. We tried to keep him alive and were advised to drive to congleton asap but shortly after he passed from the fluid build up. After ringing to inform them he'd died all that was unfortunately said was they didn't think he'd make it anyway. So not only have I paid for professional help I didn't get but I've now gone through the heart ache of my pet dying in my arms scared and there was nothing I could do about it :(. Vet's are supposed to help animals and i know there's limits to what they can do but why send me away clinging to hope if it was clear from statement they felt he was dying anyway. I feel my guineapig was given a lack of care and all that was the main interest was me doing everything myself and sending me away with a bill truly upset and disappointed :(. Read Less

Can't rate this place enough, having taken my dog for the last 5 years with various conditions, great staff and a great understanding of both animal and owner
