Brought Evie to cardiologist today. I want to say a big thank you for your help and understanding. My concern was how nervous Evie was attending after past episodes at own vet, in which she became so stressed at vet visits. I neednβt have worried. The cardiologist did everything possible to put Evie at ease and may I add myself as well.
A great big thank you from both Evie and myself. You explained all the difficulties with the heart in great detail in laymanβs terms, that I could understand. Many thanks and much appreciated. Thank you for your great care and attention. X Read Less

My dog is 6 days post-operative for TPLO on her left hind leg. She was walking on 3 legs for a week before the surgery as she had a complete tear of her cruciate ligament. She was using the bad leg at day 2 post-op and is now at day 6 using it 95% of the time. I am amazed. Her scar is tiny, the staples are perfectly spaced, the bruising was minimal and she has had very little discomfort. This is the work of an absolute perfectionist - Andrew Miller is an incredible orthopaedic surgeon.
When I told Andrew I'd done heavy research into her condition, he asked me to tell him what I knew, rather than telling me anyway and treating me like an internet idiot (which I can be sometimes). When I queried re bilateral surgery, since most dogs tear the other leg and my research online was that most people opt to get the other leg done at the same time to save the dog going through this twice, Andrew explained the risks of bilateral (with infection being the greatest factor, double the risk in bilateral) and I was swiftly confident that he was right and you shouldn't fix what isn't broken. He said he would never put an animal through unnecessary discomfort. I put my complete trust in this statement due to a previous visit.
I was previously referred to the practice in September 2017 for unexplained front limb lameness in my dog (the same unlucky dog). She had a CT scan which found nothing untoward and Andrew advised we wait and see if the lameness goes away, since there was nothing obvious and further investigation on a dog still growing would be counterproductive. It went away a month later and never returned. I believe any other practice would have advised arthroscopic investigation, which I was all for. I was disappointed not to receive a diagnosis and to be leaving my dog in pain, but he was right in his suspicions.
I hope never to return to Broadleys and that my dog beats the statistics of the other CCL tearing, but if we do return I will rest assured that Andrew will do a repeat perfect job.
Broadleys processed a direct claim with my insurance since I received pre-authorisation for her surgery, which was a huge relief and I wasn't made to feel an inconvenience. The practice is clean, well laid out, with a new cat waiting area almost complete. Parking excellent, staff lovely (even though the receptionists look extremely busy!) and I saw some excellent dog breeds coming and going from appointments when in the waiting area which is always a bonus!
