1) The over the top welcome makes you look suspicious to those who have visited enough veterinary practices. Honestly, it’s ridiculous. People who genuinely care about animals naturally show they care without forcing it.
2) One if my cats decided to bite the vet who was seeing her, who was trying to get her out of the basket, the lady showed lack of self-control looking at my cat randomly and saying “you are lucky that you are not in there” - meaning the room where only staff and pets are allowed to go in.
3) I tried to dismiss all this and took my male kitten there a few days later to see if he was old enough to be castrated. The vet (another vet this time) said he was too little but then, out of nothing, the vet decided to squeeze his balls hard enough that he yelped loud, at first I thought this was part of the process but now I know it wasn’t. He was moaning after that randomly for days, it clearly hurt him.
4) Again, I gave these vets another chance: My oldest cat was taken there because she wasn’t eating, the vet took her inside to be “fully” checked, I couldn’t go with her, but the imbecile decided to take the cat on her arms instead of putting it in the basket first, a few seconds later a heard a dog going mad, barking at something, then later the vet went back to get the basket.
5) These vets will threat to call the RSPCA on you if you tell them you will take your pet to a different veterinary surgery for a second opinion after they say that your pet is dying. My dog was taken there by my wife for a health check when I was at work, she was told my dog was too ill and that it would be better to put him down, when my wife called me to let me know, I told her to ask for a second opinion from a different veterinary surgery and to take the x ray that these vets claimed to have taken of her to another vet somewhere else. So they decided to tell my wife that I’m the sort of person who they would call the RSPCA on. He was put down in the end, I was doing a 12 hour shift and my battery had died during the conversation over the phone, so I couldn’t tell my wife to drive him immediately to Ipswich to be seen by another vet, so I got home after work to find out he was put to sleep.
6) I saw an old post on “whisper” website of what looked to be a member of the staff from eastgate vet surgery saying something about how they put pets to sleep for money. If you look for it you will find it.
The people who frequently visit eastgate vet surgery should try to visit other veterinary surgeries, many others, so that they can compare eastgate vets with other vets and see how there are a few things eastgate vets do that is just not on. The chances that your pets will live longer and healthier lives will increase if you do this. If you visit different vets in Bury St Edmunds and specially in Ipswich, you will understand what I am saying. Read Less
