I went on wednesday to see the clinic as my dog was in pain
. First visit £89 and some painkillers. The vet didnt know what the dog have and only provide painkiller hoping it goes away. My dog gets worse. Second visit, £230 they noticed it's the pancreas and just give me more painkillers. The dog get worse and worse. I called the clinic and explained that the dog is still in pain and it's worse. They suggest another visit of course for another £80. At the stage, i feel like i just pay for painkiller and my dog is not getting better. Im obviously upset. Apparently you are not allowed to be upset after £300 in bill with no results anda dog is getting worse and worse.
I called on friday, they gave me more painkillers but different ones. My dog is crying in pain and suffering. It's saturday night, no other choice than emergency. The vet at the emergency didnt understand why they gave me extra painkiller. On monday, I callled the clinic to understand why. I was supposed to get a call back. Instead i received a letter saying im not their client anymore.

I feel blessed with Alder Veterinary Practice. I was with the previous owner who retired some years ago and was very concerned that the service I had received from that Independent Practice would not carry through with new owners. How wrong was I? Chris and his team have been absolutely wonderful € caring when one of my old dogs had to be put to sleep and going over and above the call of duty looking after my dogs with their various, both small and serious ailments. I know of no other vets open 7 days a week at weekday prices. The nurses, receptionists and vets are all, without exception lovely and approachable. Lots of my friends have changed and now are clients of Alder Vets and long may they continue. Thank you team.

My cat had been having a squitty bum for approx. one week, and showed no signs of improvement, even after I'd switched to a plain chicken diet.
I took Luna into Alder Vets and was seen by the lovely Vicki, who Luna took an instant shine too. After explaining what was wrong, and what I'd tried, Vicki examined Luna and was very patient and understanding, as Luna is not patient or understanding when it comes to being handled...
With a clear abdomen, Vicki suggested that Luna may have Giardia, and the only way to confirm this was with a fecal sample, so I took a sample pot and some medication home; fortunately, or unfortunately, I was able to pop the sample back later in the week.
Around the end of the following week, Vicki phoned to tell me that the test results were back, and had tested positive for Giardia, so I should start the Panacur ASAP for a week.
Vicki was warm, friendly, informative, and she handled Luna with calm professionalism, and I do not hesitate to recommend Alder Vets.

I have been using Aldervets for the last 5 years for my dog, most recently they have treated my dog for a paw injury. On every occasion I have found the team at the Vets to be extremely helpful, knowledgeable, professional and passionate. When there has been a decision to make about my dogs treatment, they fully explain the options, costs and timescales involved so I can make an informed decision.
I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Aldervets to anyone who is looking for pragmatic and reliable advice and treatment

We have been using Alders for more that 30 years and the practice has gone from strength to strength since being taken over by Chris and his team. They always offer great animal care and I am so pleased they now offer more flexible opening hours and email communications to make life simple. We've also used the mobile van which is amazing if you struggle to get your cats in the basket!

I took my 6 week old puppy to see vet Vicky she told us there was nothing they could do for the puppy and wanted to put her down. After begging for more options Vicky still was adiment she had to be "let go" and was very pushy on getting the process moving
While we was saying good bye to the Puppy she said to my mum (in tears) "if you could settle the bill I'll get it over and done with"
After making her wait 15 minutes she then said she had to go and explained another vet would be putting my puppy down
However I felt as though we needed a second opinion and took her to Hunters lodge vets just down the road. The staff there were a lot more friendly and concered about my puppy who instantly said there was another option of surgery which we decided to try. After 3 hours the puppy was fine and at the cost of what it would have been for euthanasia my puppy was fine
In my opinion I feel Vicky just couldn't be bothered to do surgery as her shift was due to finish
And to top the whole experience off she lied to her boss saying she'd referred us to a specialist to try avoiding trouble

I can not praise Alder vets enough. The whole practice is superb. Leading vets, nurses and receptionists all giving a superior service on every level. They are at the cutting edge of veterinary care and above all else friendly, approachable and always willing to educate. They provide a stress free service for all the animals and humans who visit there. I travel from South London to use them and have sent 4 of my clients there too, all of which have fed back the same glowing reviews. Blown away by such a fantastic veterinary practice. Thank you.

The veterinarians at this practice are amazing. They do home visits as well as office visits and truly cafe about the animals they treat. We've experienced both home visits and office visits for a cat and a dog and been more than impressed with the service. Chris is our primary veterinarian and he is amazing, but we've also worked with Mel and she is equally great. I would recommend this clinic wholeheartedly to any animal lover.

As a relatively new dog owner, I am exceptionally grateful to everyone at Alder Vets for their kindness, patience and support over the past 6mths. My little rescue pup Beau was in a terrible condition, but under their close supervision and care, he is now a fit and happy little dog who actually enjoys his visits to see Chris and the team! I would not have met Beau, nor been able to handle his recuperation, without your constant support in person, at the end of the phone, or via email. I have been reduced to tears over the months, struggling with the transition from cat lady to dog owner, but boy was it worth it. You have quite literally, changed my life as I knew it, and all for the better :-) Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I would not - and do not - hesitate to recommend you to all my new dog walking friends on the Downs. Those who know you, agree wholeheartedly!

Apparently you are not allowed to be upset after £300 in bill with no results anda dog is getting worse and worse.
I called on friday, they gave me more painkillers but different ones. My dog is crying in pain and suffering. It's saturday night, no other choice than emergency. The vet at the emergency didnt understand why they gave me extra painkiller. On monday, I callled the clinic to understand why. I was supposed to get a call back. Instead i received a letter saying im not their client anymore.

I feel blessed with Alder Veterinary Practice. I was with the previous owner who retired some years ago and was very concerned that the service I had received from that Independent Practice would not carry through with new owners. How wrong was I? Chris and his team have been absolutely wonderful € caring when one of my old dogs had to be put to sleep and going over and above the call of duty looking after my dogs with their various, both small and serious ailments. I know of no other vets open 7 days a week at weekday prices. The nurses, receptionists and vets are all, without exception lovely and approachable. Lots of my friends have changed and now are clients of Alder Vets and long may they continue. Thank you team.

My cat had been having a squitty bum for approx. one week, and showed no signs of improvement, even after I'd switched to a plain chicken diet.
I took Luna into Alder Vets and was seen by the lovely Vicki, who Luna took an instant shine too. After explaining what was wrong, and what I'd tried, Vicki examined Luna and was very patient and understanding, as Luna is not patient or understanding when it comes to being handled...
With a clear abdomen, Vicki suggested that Luna may have Giardia, and the only way to confirm this was with a fecal sample, so I took a sample pot and some medication home; fortunately, or unfortunately, I was able to pop the sample back later in the week.
Around the end of the following week, Vicki phoned to tell me that the test results were back, and had tested positive for Giardia, so I should start the Panacur ASAP for a week.
Vicki was warm, friendly, informative, and she handled Luna with calm professionalism, and I do not hesitate to recommend Alder Vets.

We have been using Alders for more that 30 years and the practice has gone from strength to strength since being taken over by Chris and his team. They always offer great animal care and I am so pleased they now offer more flexible opening hours and email communications to make life simple. We've also used the mobile van which is amazing if you struggle to get your cats in the basket!

I took my 6 week old puppy to see vet Vicky she told us there was nothing they could do for the puppy and wanted to put her down. After begging for more options Vicky still was adiment she had to be "let go" and was very pushy on getting the process moving
While we was saying good bye to the Puppy she said to my mum (in tears) "if you could settle the bill I'll get it over and done with"
After making her wait 15 minutes she then said she had to go and explained another vet would be putting my puppy down
However I felt as though we needed a second opinion and took her to Hunters lodge vets just down the road. The staff there were a lot more friendly and concered about my puppy who instantly said there was another option of surgery which we decided to try. After 3 hours the puppy was fine and at the cost of what it would have been for euthanasia my puppy was fine
In my opinion I feel Vicky just couldn't be bothered to do surgery as her shift was due to finish
And to top the whole experience off she lied to her boss saying she'd referred us to a specialist to try avoiding trouble

They are at the cutting edge of veterinary care and above all else friendly, approachable and always willing to educate. They provide a stress free service for all the animals and humans who visit there. The veterinarians at this practice are amazing. They do home visits as well as office visits and truly cafe about the animals they treat. We've experienced both home visits and office visits for a cat and a dog and been more than impressed with the service. Chris is our primary veterinarian and he is amazing, but we've also worked with Mel and she is equally great. I would recommend this clinic wholeheartedly to any animal lover.

As a relatively new dog owner, I am exceptionally grateful to everyone at Alder Vets for their kindness, patience and support over the past 6mths. My little rescue pup Beau was in a terrible condition, but under their close supervision and care, he is now a fit and happy little dog who actually enjoys his visits to see Chris and the team! I would not have met Beau, nor been able to handle his recuperation, without your constant support in person, at the end of the phone, or via email. I have been reduced to tears over the months, struggling with the transition from cat lady to dog owner, but boy was it worth it. You have quite literally, changed my life as I knew it, and all for the better :-) Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I would not - and do not - hesitate to recommend you to all my new dog walking friends on the Downs. Those who know you, agree wholeheartedly!
