Terrible service... I just could tell my (little boy) dog was not right but didnt know quite what was wrong, so we took him to the vets to get checked...we had the appointment with Nicola... everything was wrong with this consultation! My dogs temperature wasn't checked, which i thought would be the first thing vets do! The lump on his side (was very large and hot when you touched it) this vet Nicola had touched it and told us that it was probably a fatty lump and to leave it another month (A WHOLE MONTH) until we took him back for tests! I was not happy and luckily took my little boy somewhere else and they looked at his side wasn't happy with the size of the lump and made a slight cut to open it immediately as he had a huge abscess and everything that was inside him needed to be out otherwise he could have been seriously ill!!!.. if we had listened to this so called vet Nicola at Gayton Vets in Horley...our poor little boy could have been seriously ill worse....died from this. I am so disgusted with this vet. After taking my 2 spaniels and my lab to the Smallfields veterinary centre for 7 years, I decided to move to a more local vets which was Gayton vets in Horley Surrey. My 5 year old spaniel developed a large hard lump the size of your palm on his last rib area. I took him to this vet and the vet told me that she would lay money on it that it was a fatty lump! She made no checks whatsoever for temperature, breathing etc etc! Neither did she feel any part of my Harvey's body to compare both sides! She recommended that I leave it a month to see if it gets any worse.. if so come back and she will do some checks. I did not like this result and requested a deeper investigation. She told me it would cost 300.00, when I agreed the price suddenly went up to 400.00 plus medication! I decided to cancel the surgery that next morning and get a second opinion from my original vets! Thank god I took him there as they did all the relevant checks and found Harvey had a very high temperature and a huge abscess!!! Any longer and it could of burst into his internal parts resulting in a sudden painful death ! Do not go to this vets in Horley!! And this is not the last of my actions against this vet.
