My Labrador, Martha, has been very nervous about coming to the vets. She didnt want any-one to examine her or get anywhere close. But the animal behaviour nurse, Gemma, has worked wonders. We have visited her every week over the last few months and Marthas confidence has improved dramatically thanks to Gemmas skills and experience, plus a little gentle care, kindness (and lots of doggie treats)! The reception staff have also been amazing too. Martha was able to have her boosters and kennel cough vaccine last week without a problem. We are so thankful. I think its important to say that this is a free service provided by Rainsbrook. If your dog is at all nervous about vet visits I would whole-heartedly recommend it. A massive Thank you! Read Less

My animals have had some fantastic care at Rainsbrook vets in the past - I have 5 cats and a dog, and most of the cats have special needs which have been taken into account. All the staff are wonderful, in particular Sian and Charlotte who have taken extra special care of Rory, my blind persian cat. The reception staff are absolutely fantastic too. It is therefore with great regret that I have changed to another practice due to the overnight care arrangements. Rainsbrook do not have someone on site at night, even when a pet is admitted and unfortunately that means I have had to take my pets elsewhere. I cannot admit any of my pets knowing they would be alone overnight as for most of them, this would cause huge amount of distress. I have instead registered them with a surgery where there is a nurse onsite 24/7 which I am much more comfortable with.Read Less

Please be aware that these vets do not offer 24/7 care as their website makes you believe! Look in the T and C's and you will see what 'care' your animals get when they are admitted over night or the weekend. There are no staff on the premises while your animal is in their care. They get 'checks' last thing at night and then first thing in the morning. They can be left alone, unchecked for up to 10 hours. My mother's dog died alone in a strange place. She had been admitted as an emergency in the morning and they deemed her 'fit enough' to be left alone all night. If my mother had been advised she would be unsupervised she would have brought her home where she could have passed away in familiar surroundings and with company. They have advised my mother that they will not be changing their policy. We don't want this to happen to anyone else.Read Less

Way back when, David Walker was one of the first vets in the country to take the idea of pinning broken legs from human surgery and use it in animal surgery. I had a Staffie who snapped his back leg cleanly in 2 and David's work meant there was very little visible evidence once every thing was fully healed. Over the great many years, David and his team have treated dogs, cats, and horses for me and their work was always exceptional. I now live in the USA but will always remember them with fondness.
