The FORCED us to take him to old bury pet hospital otherwise they was going to call RSPCA! What a f joke.. they thought we didn’t look after our Romeo when we’ve had him for 8+ years. God knows what they injected in our cat.. we jus wanted him to have his last moments in peace which they made sure he didn’t. Our cat passed away on the way to Oldbury Hospital.. He had been missing for over a week and returned at last with what turned out to be a broken knee and dislocated hip! The folks at PDSA have been amazing and since I'm on Housing Benefit, are able to carry out his amputation which would normally cost hundreds of pounds with me contributing as much as I can afford. I came to the PDSA and they neutered, tagged and gave him all the injections he needed. I paid a small amount, all I could afford and they really did help me.The PDSA have now started a new scheme that I think that pet owners on low icome should take heed of.The PDSA's PetCheck programme has gained so much exposure and have done so much work that they gave 1300 dogs free health checks and over 2,000 people visited. The PetCheck programme will be running until the end of October with their experienced veterinary nurses not only providing free health checks to dogs but also advice on the care of cats and other pets.One of the best causes I can think of for animals. Horrible, was told I wasn't eligible because I'd bought my pet in mid home moving even though I was still in te catchment area. The receptionist was rude and snarky, and whilst waiting in the waiting room she loudly b**ched about me and my adoptive mother apparently trying to "con the system". I'm a foster child and cannot help moving, but their attitude toward it was simply uncalled for. I also had to wait 4 hours to be seen, despite having an appointment. Read Less

PDSA Aston: I have 4 adult dogs and even though you are only allowed to have 3 registered, the amazing work that Aston PDSA do is totally speechless. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. They really put my mind at ease, they saved my Sammy's life when she had pyometra...I can never ever thank you so much for the amazing work you did. I am, and always will be in your debt. You are in my Will and Last Testament!

They called me next day with more test results and I asked to make a further donation - now that WAS exceptionally difficult - they put me on hold for ages - then someone else answered and asked me what I wanted I explained was put on hold again , then someone else answered asked how she could help I said I wanted to make a further donation and she put me on hold again - to be honest I got fed up of waiting so hung up -
So if its that difficult to make a further donation not sure how they keep going - but glad they do. Read Less

Really good place and very welcoming and supportive but the receptionist can be rude if you haven't got a donation with you as you've rushed in and just desperate to help your furrbaby.

I love animals, all animals. My preferred domestic animal is a cat and I had to get mine neutered at a time I wasn't in work. I came to the PDSA and they neutered, tagged and gave him all the injections he needed. I paid a small amount, all I could afford and they really did help me.The PDSA have now started a new scheme that I think that pet owners on low icome should take heed of.The PDSA's PetCheck programme has gained so much exposure and have done so much work that they gave 1300 dogs free health checks and over 2,000 people visited. The PetCheck programme will be running until the end of October with their experienced veterinary nurses not only providing free health checks to dogs but also advice on the care of cats and other pets.One of the best causes I can think of for animals.
