I agree that there are pros and cons with this veterinary practice. If you get Rory Lydon then the service is wonderful and I know he does a lot of work with the Cats' Protection League. They are reasonably priced for basics like vaccinations and neutering but we have seen a female vet more often than not and she does always try to bump up sales by being quite pushy and trying to sell add ons, which frankly has put me off using them regularly. We use our local vet for most things (partly because our cats get stressed in the car and it's closer) but took out a lifetime inoculation deal with Lydons a few years ago, so use that annually. THis was the first time and will be the last time I ever use these vets again. I am disgusted by the exploitation of my naivety and ignorance and the patronising behaviour they showed me. I was conned out of 700 pounds worth of ongoing blood tests ,treatments , drips, more blood tests and flea treatments( apparently my cat has fleas) . They have gotten no closer to finding out what is wrong with my cat. After spending close to a grand they have only told me has has some sort of INFECTION!!! I could have told them that. They proceeded to give him antibiotics and drips.... that is all they have done. I would never advise anyone to use their services again. The lady at the front desk has a disgusting attitude and the service was just overall horrendous. They expected us to call them back to get updates on our cat!!! Disgraceful ... this kind of attitude will never get you far. When you conduct buisness be honest and respectful otowards others and you will go far Read Less

You've seen pushy mums, you've seen cat ladies. But what to do when you've married someone who manages, where kitties are concerned, to combine the two?My wife adores our cats, but the love comes at a price - endless, and perhaps slightly irrational concerns over their wellbeing. It's a sympathetic surgery, then, that is able to walk that fine line between getting vets' jobs done and accommodating a pet owner's protective streak.Lydon was absolutely perfect when it came to having our female kittens spayed, talking us though the process and even patiently permitting us to rearrange the appointment when owners' cold feet sowed needless doubts over whether the cats had finished their season (potentially complicating the spay procedure). The truth is, Lydon takes as much care over humans as it does its furrier customer base.
