Booked a check up appointment for my Dog while also mentioning he had been vomiting for a few days. There was no mention that there was a consultation fee, and definitely no mention that it was 40! I have rang 5 vets near home and asked there price point for a consultation and they have said 24! The consultation lasted no longer than 5 minutes and the quality of the consultation was very poor, the vet who I was with was female and I had asked her to check my dogs teeth and she refused to since he was making a fuss. I also asked for food advice although she recommended me some brands there was no mention of a indepth health benefits. 40 would be understandable if it was of high quality however my questions were not answered to the standard I wanted to such as I had asked for recommendations for any Dog trainers but they didn't know of any. Also my dog is due in for a booster in July this will cost over 40 whereas at a vets such as vaule vets they do a loyalty scheme where it brings it to 15. THIS VETS IS FOR PEOPLE WHO WANT TO WASTE MONEY. I have also done work experience at many vets and the information was much more indepth and prices were cheaper. And if the dog was acting up they'd put a muzzle on him rather than refusing to help it. Also the receptionist were rude and intimidating. Read Less

For those of you who might have a reptile and are considering taking them to manor vets I'd highly recommend it. I've seen a total of 14 vets for my current bearded dragon across different practices, very rarely seeing the same vet twice, often due to advice that would that is simply just wrong when compared to the literature or is now outdated. I've seen 4 vets at manor vets (Steph, Jack, Tom, and lastly Sergio). All have left I believe, apart from Sergio, for other opportunities. These are the only 4 vets I have ever seen of the 14 I would ever see more than once (seen Sergio 5-6 times). Their clinical decisions have so far always been right (and often in direct contradiction to previous exotic vets closer to home I have seen before resorting to traveling to manor vets). I have the luxury of being able to read everything I can about bearded dragon research/recommendations to make informed choices and even when I only have to know everything about one species -- and they have to know everything about all the species -- they have only agreed with me when I had got it right or seen through my mistakes when I had got it wrong. Something you hope from every vet but sadly manor vets is the only practice that has come through for me there. For those of you that might be interested in the cost as well: I am yet to find a cheaper vets in regards to exotics. That said though if they were the most expensive vets it would change nothing for me.Read Less

I had never had any problems with manor vets Halesowen they have always been great with my dog. However towards the end of my dogs life I learnt they will tell you anything to get money out of you even knowing and not telling you that your dogs life is coming to an end quickly, yet they will still do a point less operation and charge over 500 pound to do so, telling you your dogs quality of life will improve massively, they knew he had kidney failure from the blood test results and didn't tell us pre or post operation. Had we been informed we certainly wouldn't have put him through a castration operation at 12 and a half years old! Read Less

Awful place - please do not go here, you'll be charged a very minimum of THREE times the amount you would elsewhere, they are not at all compassionate and all they care about is taking people's money! They wanted 400 to operate on a rat- it was cheaper for me to get on the train and go to a vets in Stoke-On-Trent - I spent well under 200 including the train tickets in the end... Since then I have found a lovely vets in Birmingham, as my rat's tumour returned and he was very unwell... This only cost me 26 for a consultation, euthanasia and cremation all included - Orchard vets in Oldbury. Absolutely lovely, understanding and empathetic staff there... As opposed to this place, but it's easy to see why they have such good reviews, they act so nice, friendly and welcoming but it's all fake, they guilt trip you into spending loads of money! As I stated, they wanted 400 for the op, 37 for a consultation, and even wanted me to pay extra for pain relief on top... I got told if I couldn't afford it, I would have to have the rat put down and I should make my decision within the next 24 hours. Even had the vet ring me at home the next day, asking me if I've made my decision because my rat is suffering - at this point he wasn't suffering at all and was running around, like his happy usual self. I'd highly recommend The Orchard Vets in Oldbury, very low prices but genuinely nice, and genuinely care about what is best for the animal. Read Less

Mixed feelings for this place. See bottom paragraphs for mainly why. It is generally on the more expensive side, and the vets do not make you aware of the price of medications during the consultation -you have to ask. Several experiences: one of a large male cat, he was prescribed a drug at 50mg but I was give the human size tablets e.g. 200mg and told to break into 4. This would be OK except that being a large boy cat I had stated very clearly that it is very difficult to give him tablets -the drug has an extremely bitter taste, therefore when broken into quarters the taste made it impossible to give to him, so a waste of my money. Another time a young kitten was admitted overnight as was very lethargic, he was treated with fluids and feed once cost 220, due to out of hours stay, sent home next day and told to watch closely - I AM HAPPY WITH THIS SO FAR. We kept a close eye on him and again on the evening (Sun) he showed the same symptoms. ***What lead me to the low score is that I was not allowed to be told what further treatment COULD be given to him over the phone, if I wanted to know I would have to pay for the consultation again at 135 + treatment. I just wanted to know what was POSSIBLE obviously not definite. It just seemed they were much more profit driven than care driven at this point; maybe I'm just upset at the moment -you be the judge? Another local vet would freely give me more advice over the phone with whom I had not spend 220 in the same 24 hr period. Read Less

Read Less

Excellent care given to Grace over the last few months by Jack and Helen at the Cradley Heath branch. They did everything possible to make her last few weeks as good as it could be, right up until she had to be put to sleep this week, even going that extra bit by sending us flowers a few days later. I cannot fault any of the staff right from the receptionist especially Robyn and Rachel who have been so friendly and understanding down to the nurses to have had to give Grace her tablets which I know was not an easy task. Thank you for taking such good care of Grace Read Less

What an amazing practice. Not only did they do everything in their power to keep our beautiful bunny Alfie with us for as long as they could, but when the time came to say goodbye they excelled themselves. It was the most horrible experience made so much better with their empathy and professionalism. Our bunny's sister was included and our 9 year old daughter involved and cared for! We could not have asked for more. And then we received a bouquet of flowers from them!!! Thank you Manor Vets Northfield for your brilliance and especially Kat and Molly for your expert care.

Read Less
