Gemma Williams BvetMed MRCVS is our head Veterinary Surgeon and specialises in internal medicine, Katie Tipping MRCVS is our assistant Veterinary Surgeon with a special interest in exotics. Head Veterinary Nurse is Amy Bytheway and Veterinary Nurses - Laura Bailey, Elicia Howe, Jade Bartle and trainee Emily Lewis, Receptionist is Sharon Padmore. Practice Manager is James O'Gorman.

A man knocked my door late Saturday night said he was just passing and found a dog tied to my door handle. I eventually opened my door and told him to go away and leave the dog with me. I took the dog to Northside to discover that the man and his girlfriend had been in with the dog earlier saying they had found it! They were turned away. Hence the poor old dog was dumped onto me. On Sunday I rang three times to get an appointment asking if a VET could check the dog over and clip her very overgrown nails. When the vet saw her she found swelling in her tummy and really wanted to treat her but a nurse pipped up and said that she couldn’t treat her because no one was paying. I had a few choice words with the nurse who clearly had no duty of care for this poor dog and told me to take her to the PDSA or RSPCA in other words palm her off to charity! The drugs would probably of cost them pennies to help this poor old girl. Would you then believe that the despicable couple who had dumped the dog turned up to Northside saying that they had found the “dogs owner” and wouldn’t give me the details and I even got threatened to give them the dog back. Again the poor old girl ended up in Northside and was just handed over to these two pieces of work and told that she needed treatment. Which I’m sure the poor dog won’t get with these low life’s.
I would also like to bring to this serious breach of GDPR – that someone gave my mobile no. to the people that dumped the dog on my doorstep that then threatened me.

Our cat Snowy was at the end of his days having survived kidney disease for many years. He was serverly dehydrated and not with it at all. Our local vet recommended Northside to get emergency treatment, a blood test and fluids. The staff and vet were very friendly, considerate, professional and kind when treating Snowy and helping my family deal with the stress and I would like to thank them all for their help.

Would just like to say a Huge Thankyou to all the staff. You are all amazing. You have saved my 6 month old labradors life. If it wasnt for your skills and compasion he wouldnt be lying here upside down having his belly rubbed. DAN he has a special bond with you and i will bring him to see you as often as i can. He hasnt started meowing yet. You know why 😆.

my beloved dog fitting in the middle of the night we where deverstated although we knew he was at the end of his life suffering from cancer.
i rang north side in desperation to be told we are not your regestered emercency vet please call your vet and get number i explained he was in a bad way and was fitting,was told you still need to call your own vet,which i did to be told it was 7 miles away i explained he was fitting really badley and they gave me north side number again i rang to be told ok bring him down which we did myself and my children,beside our self.as i walked in the smell of disinfectant was horrid.
i was told i must fill in form first and she started asking me questions as i watched my beautiful boy fitting in my childrens arms, i asked can i please do this afterwards and was told no.
my consultation which cost £160 was whats he being treated for,and did i want he put down.As we held him in our arms all three of us crying the vet injected him,the vet didnt bother to mention he may have a muscle spasm which he did and let out a massive scream my daughter ran and was sick nearly knocking nurse over.
on paying bill £350 and we took the body home, £50 of this was a charge for me not going to my nominated out of hours vet what a disgrace a sick animal is a sick animal.

Wouldnt even rate them 1 star if I had the choice. Initial phone cobversation with vet was not bad especially as it was 00:48 in the morning, had to phone back about half an hour later to arrange for vet to come out to put my elderly dog to sleep to be told they'd call me back with details of when to expect the service they use for this to arrive. No return call AT ALL. Phoned Northside 8 times over the next 2 hours whilst trying to find another vet to help us and on each call it just rang out. Finally at 03:18 I had a TEXT MESSAGE saying Ness vet home visits was unavailable DISGUSTING A TEXT MESSAGE WHILE I WAS TRYING TO CALM MY HIGHLY DISTRESSED PET. Used Peaceful Paws who I cant rate highly enough for their prompt considerate care in providing the relief my dog needed.

Great vets took my robo hamster for his operation of removing his foot did a superb job and follow ups were good. Other vet place at pets at home said his food would drop off and wouldn't do surgery Lockwoods did and he is such a lively little hamster. Take him now for his claws to be cut down and always get great friendly service. Highly recommend to all pet owners

Fantastic, can not fault them at all, they go above and beyond to help your animals and keep you informed all the way, they saved our little girl and 3 beautiful puppies last night, they stayed past there working hours and did everything they could to ensure the safe arrival and the mum was ok, the bill was far less then we expected but when it comes to animals you can't put a price on them, I was that impressed I even went over to Sainsbury's to buy each member of the team a thankyou from me and my wife

Got strung along and ripped off, our cat died a slow death suffering unnecessarily due to incompetence, took to another vets who immediately diagnosed and put cat to sleep at a discount because they realised what a rough ride we had. My partner had been taking cat and when nurse realised I was someone different fobbed me off that cat put on weight when in fact was the same weight. Shocking and heard many stories since. Never mind I'm sure our 1600 is long gone and spent!

Found a lost Cat who was skinny and underfed outside the company I work for it had been there 3-4 days. I took it to Lockwood to see if they would check it over so I could take it home but didn't want to do so without it being checked over as I already have 2 cats and a dog. They refused and simply told me to put it back where I found it after telling me it was not microchipped. Fucking appalling behaviour from a vets who are meant to care for the welfare of animals. Would not recommend and would never want my animals treated by the heartless staff that work there.

Great big THANK YOU to Dan and Pamela for the proffessional way that they dealt with my dog Chintzi, and myself, when i had the terrible task of having to have her put to sleep, on monday 15th August 2016, at around 2230 hours. Your calmness and caring ways, meant more to me than you will ever realise. It is never a nice task to loose a pet, i have had to have it done 3 times now, but for 2 vets, whom i had never met, to be so understanding, gentle and considerate towards me, and Chintzi, no words could thank you enough !!!!!!. Time is a great healer, so they say, but you never forget kindness, like that which you showed, that night. Once again, i would like to say THANK YOU, YOU ARE BOTH EXCELLENT VETS............................................

I took my lovely border collie dog to this vets late one night because she was very ill,I told them that she was normally treated by the PDSA,but could not get them on the phone, so I said I would be willing to pay if they would treat her.The vet I saw checked her over,and said she needed an operation,she then very kindly got through to the PDSA gave them the details and arranged for us to go there.Will always recommend this vets,and have done many times.

I had an eye operation for my sharpei which was looked at several times at the other branch and only advised to get get done never serious so I decided to sell my MacBook Pro to raise the 500 pound to pay for it which I was insured but u have to pay first lets just say I'm bitterly disappointed with the claim the vets filled out and I have cancelled the insurance as they have refused to pay out I feel stitched up by both parties I will not be using them again plus they are expensive for amateur advice not at all very professional

A man knocked my door late Saturday night said he was just passing and found a dog tied to my door handle. I eventually opened my door and told him to go away and leave the dog with me. Our cat Snowy was at the end of his days having survived kidney disease for many years. He was serverly dehydrated and not with it at all. Our local vet recommended Northside to get emergency treatment, a blood test and fluids. The staff and vet were very friendly, considerate, professional and kind when treating Snowy and helping my family deal with the stress and I would like to thank them all for their help.

Other vet place at pets at home said his food would drop off and wouldn't do surgery Lockwoods did and he is such a lively little hamster. Take him now for his claws to be cut down and always get great friendly service. Highly recommend to all pet owners

I took my lovely border collie dog to this vets late one night because she was very ill,I told them that she was normally treated by the PDSA,but could not get them on the phone, so I said I would be willing to pay if they would treat her.The vet I saw checked her over,and said she needed an operation,she then very kindly got through to the PDSA gave them the details and arranged for us to go there.Will always recommend this vets,and have done many times.

I had an eye operation for my sharpei which was looked at several times at the other branch and only advised to get get done never serious so I decided to sell my MacBook Pro to raise the 500 pound to pay for it which I was insured but u have to pay first lets just say I'm bitterly disappointed with the claim the vets filled out and I have cancelled the insurance as they have refused to pay out I feel stitched up by both parties I will not be using them again plus they are expensive for amateur advice not at all very professional
