Originating from Birmingham Oakfield Veterinary Group emerged as a well-known entity among animal enthusiasts who seek nearby veterinary assistance. The clinic’s position within the West Midlands region enables pet owners from surrounding areas to obtain regular healthcare services. Depending on individual cases, veterinary services might encompass routine examinations along with pet immunizations and early disease detection screenings while also providing diagnostic consultations. Oakfield Veterinary Group establishes a serene and organized environment to reduce stress levels for both pets and their owners. Throughout Birmingham the veterinary team manages an extensive range of medical requirements that include skin and coat conditions alongside dental problems and mobility issues. The clinic possesses expertise in handling urgent issues such as infections and digestive changes despite its focus on wellness visits and preventive plans. The Oakfield Veterinary Group serves as a primary resource for West Midlands families facing complex diagnoses and managing chronic conditions in their aging pets. Visitors frequently discuss the clinic’s communication style which presents information in a clear, kind, and easily understandable manner. The decisions pet owners make for their animals become a source of confidence through this support. A significant number of clients maintain long-term relationships because they experience consistent service which helps them develop trust gradually. The veterinary staff's expertise in both ordinary and intricate topics positions them as ideal guides for long-term animal care. The expansion of Oakfield Veterinary Group persists because an increasing number of pet owners relocate to the Birmingham area or seek nearby veterinary services. The clinic's involvement with local pet owners creates a support system for responsible pet ownership and vigilant animal care. Took our 15 year old cat here as she was vomiting all the time.
The vet felt her stomach and found a lump. She did an Ultrasound (£120).
We asked her to provide a report of her findings (should that not be standard practice?) Anyway....the report was vague and said a possible lymph node may be inflamed and need to be removed. We were quoted £1500 for an exploratory operation to be done!
I immediatley went to seek a 2nd opinion from another vet and was asked to provide the pictures from the ultrasound that had been done. I called oakfeild and asked if they could send me the screen captures to which I was told 'unfortunately we don't have the pictures because the machine we used is old and doesn't always take pictures' how comforting!
I asked if another scan could be done free of charge as there's no evidence that a scan was ever done in the first place and they'd taken £120 from us. They said they'll call back and let me know.
I've not had a call back. I find this service shocking. People's pets are important and leaving people in limbo about possible cancerous tumours isn't great. It is also a form of emotional blackmail to extract money from people in desperate need of answers.
After showing your report to another vet they've told us we did the right thing by not bringing her back to your practice as you're not trust worthy to cut an animal open and remove anything going by the vagueness of your original findings and lack of other tests before suggesting an exploratory.

Just called the emergency number for this vet. Have been told that they wont look at our cat who has the side of his face ripped open, puncher wounds on his head and a possible broken leg as "we are not registered". Have been told to take him to his own vet who don't open until 9am this morning (6 hours and 21 minuets from now). I hope he lasts that long as he is 12 years old. I will be taking my autistic daughter to the Castle Bromwich branch so they can explain why her best and only friend has been left in pain and suffering by them. Read Less
