I moved to a different vet a few years ago as their out of hours surgery is in Solihull...too far for a pensioner to travel with a very sick pet. I have now returned as the vet nearest to me had foreign, inexperienced vets who couldn’t give a diagnosis for two if my dogs. Pype Hayes saw me the same day...one younger vet admitted she wasn’t sure and got her more senior colleague to look at my dog...he spotted the problem and treated accordingly. Full of admiration for the young vet who wasn’t too proud to say she needed a second opinion and her colleague, Chris, was amazing. I’ll be moving my pets back to Pype Hayes. Read Less

Please beware of this place if your pet is diagnosed with diabetes. I was given very poor advise and they nearly killed my cat because the dose of insulin they told me to give him was double the amount he actually needed. Because of this he went into a hypo and I had to go to an emergency vets who told me the insulin dose was way to high for him. I was also advised to inject him before food which now I've been told to never do this and inject after food because if he doesn't eat he doesn't need any insulin! I feel this vet is very money orientated, I had to buy the insulin through them but after going to another vet they said they would give me a prescription so I can buy it online alot cheaper, also the needles they were selling me were very high priced compared to other places. If this place diagnoses your pet with diabetes please get a second opinion before injecting them with the dose they recommend. Read Less

Absolutely brilliant vets. I had previously been to see 4 different vets (at the same practice) and was unable to get the basic facts and figures required for my lovely dog. I came across this vets on the internet and contacted them. I rang and Chris the vet called me back and, following an in-depth discussion, I took my dog to see Chris. Sadly, it was not a good outcome, but Chris was brilliant and very empathetic and the advice he gave was absolutely in my dog's best interest (not mine) which is what I want from a vet. The prices are extremely reasonable. I would not take any future furry family member anywhere else. Massive thank you to Chris and the team at Pype Hayes for helping through a very difficult and distressing time. Read Less

My dog is now 18months and have been taking her since a puppy for her worm, flea and vaccinations. The vets always give her lots of fuss and try to make sure she has a positive experience by letting smell the room and giving her a small treat. Although I was disappointed that when she was a puppy they did not currently do any puppy parties which were offered to my sister when her dogs were pups. The receptionists are actually friendly and helpful ( I know ,wish I could say the same for the human doctors surgery). Like most vets, the bills can be expensive so it's worth shopping around, but I like that it's local and we have never had a problem with the service. Read Less

Our dog Hugo attended here some years ago. He had been suffering from Heat Stroke after spending the day in the garden with me. After developing breathing difficulties he later became floppy so on the evening I called Kirby Cook & Peg (Pype Hayes Veterinary Centre). They thought hed broken his back which I told them was impossible and I was shocked at the ludicrous suggestion. They put him on Oxygen over night at a staggering 23 pounds an hour!!! Eventually they put him down. He was only 5 and his life was cut so short. It turned out they failed to spot heat stroke and all he needed was an injection. Despite his need of help, they put profit first and made the last moments of my little Hugos life, so distressing. All he needed was a simple injection, shocking! Avoid. There is a much better vet opposite the Yenton McDonalds. These guys are terrible and will rip you off to a ridiculously high amount. My family have been left devastated by an error this practice has made with the cremation of our much loved family dog. He was put to sleep recently and without our family's permission sent for a communal rather than private cremation. I've been to this location more than once and never been very happy with the service. The receptionists are rather cold and unwelcoming. The veterinarians I've dealt with were not quick to offer information, rather preferring for you to pull it out of them with question after question. On the last visit, the veterinarian was so quiet, it would have been a silent visit had I not chirped in with questions. There is no love shown to the animal either, which makes me question if the people there actually like animals. Very disappointing. Read Less

We all love our pets, they are, after all as much a part of the family as anyone. Which is why it's important to look after by regular visit to the vet. Pype Hayes Veterinary Centre is my preferred choice when it comes to looking after my four legged friend. The staff here is friendly and extremely helpful. The vets themselves are knowledgeable and caring. The centre encourages you to register your pet online and they'll invite you to an Introductory Consultation. The centre regularly runs special offers, at the  time of my visit there was 33% off Micro-chipping with a full vaccination course as well as free worming for all kittens and puppies at first vaccination. I signed up for the Pet Health Care Plan, it spreads my care costs over the year with affordable monthly payments rather than huge bills. The plan includes; annual booster vaccinations, full health check twice yearly, year round flea prevention and worming and much more. The cost is £10.00 for a rabbit, £11.00 for a cat, £11.50 for a small dog up to £16.00 for a big fat dog. Read Less

I am very pleased with Pype Hayes vets in particular Steve Pegg the staff are friendly and nothing is two much trouble for them. I have unfortunately lost three dogs two of which were PTS the last died at home but we took her to PHV and they arranged her cremation with respect and dignity. I would recommend this practice to any pet owner unreservedly. Read Less

My family have been left devastated by an error this practice has made with the cremation of our much loved family dog. He was put to sleep recently and without our family's permission sent for a communal rather than private cremation. This unforgivable, irreversible error has meant that our best friends ashes will not be coming home! To add insult to injury, this heartless practice, asked my very upset and elderly father to pay for the communal cremation that has upset the family so greatly! There really are no words! Read Less

I couldn't have found better care anywhere when our little dog was ill and that has been a few times since we adopted him just over seven years ago. Stephen Pegg and the practice were highly recommended by the late Jean Fisher who rehomed many unwanted cats and dogs over the years. Read Less

We have used Pype Hayes vet for all our animals, (over 20 years now) and nothing has ever been too much trouble for them. I cannot rate this veterinary centre highly enough.

Read Less
