Left waiting in a sweat box with a poorly dog. The vets are good when you eventually see them, sometimes it feels like there abit excessive on medication and revisits, dont know weather this is just a pure upselling or just genuine concern for your pet, i litterally have spent ££££ at this place, after some visits i look back and think was that necessary?? Or did they need that.... in response to the manager, our pets are registered under my partners name which will explain the reason for no records of me, i wrote this review 1 year ago and have recently been in for a booster for my dog, appointment was 6PM i arrived at 5:45, did not get seen until 6:50pm, this is not just a one off it has happened to me and my partner over 6 times in the past, you are very lucky we still use you, its only because we are local we still do, take my advice, Ensure you keep to appointment times, Stop anually increasing the price for medications, try not to upsell treatments etc, our dog ate something naughty, u guys made him sick, the receptionist said nearly the whole pack of chewing gums came up 9 in total, but on this occasion your vets insisted on blood test, keeping him in on a drip etc, we were asked 3 time's if we had insurance. Being young and nieve we payed £650 odd for treatments, looking back i feel we were ripped off, he has eaten similar amounts in the time after and he has been fine which is testement to how uneeded all the treatment was. Another time he had ear problems, we bought ear drops and asked to come back next week, we did this, the vet had 1 look in each ear and said "yeah still got lots of wax, come back next week" and we were charged 30odd quid for the consultation. This happened 3 times over, in the end we did not keep returning and left it, hes fine now btw!. You guys are meant to be vetinarians not salesmen. Whilst i agree you need to be cautious of animals needs etc, you know and i know there is a element of upselling going on Read Less

We took our dog to these vets , she was distressed and in difficulties and had to be carried into the surgery on a stretcher . She was put in a back room and it became obvious to us that she was near the end . We wanted to see her and be with her as she passed away , but the staff held us up in another room taking a payment for her euthanasia injection and cremation service , god alone knows why that couldn't have waited until afterwards . At that time we would have signed anything we were so upset and just wanted to see her . They even tried to get us to pick and pay for an urn before she had even died . We finally got to see her just as she passed away , she didn't even need the injection we had just paid for she died naturally . Their suggested solution to the disposal of her body was to put her in a van and drive her to Surrey for cremation . The next day we cancelled that and found Heart of England Services in Meridan who dealt with her cremation locally in a compassionate and caring manner , and we would highly recommend them . While I understand that vets are not the National Health ie they are there to make money (and YourVets are part of a large group) , I cannot understand the total lack of compassion shown by the vets and most staff at this place . At no time was our dog treated as any more than a source of income to their practice , and to delay us seeing our dog while they took payments and tried to sell us things is totally inexcusable . Take our advice , don't use them , find a small local vet to look after your animal who will care about them and not use the opportunity of your vulnerability at a distressing time to extract money from you . As a vets, the centre is a really nice place and the 24 hour service is very reassuring for a pet owner. However, I could not recommend them as a place to go to have your pet euthanized. Trust me, unless you are very insistent, your dogs suffering will be made to continue, but only after you've spent £200+ on 'tests'. Sadly, our dog (who was old) fell very poorly and we took him here with the sole intention of having him put to sleep. I'm not an expert, but I believe that most experienced dog owners know when there is something extremely wrong with their dog and particularly when it is highly distressed. While the service we received was excellent and considerate we were attempted to be sold x-rays and blood tests etc. (after a very subtle insurance enquiry). I am a rather pragmatic dog owner. I believe that once they are past a certain age, when something goes very badly wrong, prolonging their life is often cruel and selfish. For a dog that was very clearly poorly, I (not for the first time with YourVets) eventually gave in and was sent home with some medicine. Within an hour of being home we almost immediately regretted it as our dog vomited and collapsed in it in less than an hour after us being told to 'give him a chance'. We eventually (very late in the day at this point) found another vet who agreed that euthanizing was the humane option practically upon immediate assessment. I should have learnt my lesson from 5 years before when an old rescue dog we had at the time clearly had kidney failure, yet we were sold blood tests, x-rays and drips at £360 for them to eventually tell me what I already knew and then that it would be best to put her to sleep (by which point I was £500 in the hole after 2 days and all I had done was allowed my emotions to buy into hope and prolong my dogs suffering). I'm not saying that YourVets are bad, if anything, quite the contrary. However, practically every time we or friends have had to take a pet here to be put down (not an easy decision) we have been 'up sold' into dragging the process out. In any other industry, it'd be called 'being conned' - because money is taken (or extracted) from you at a point where you are most emotionally vulnerable. When we have needed this vet, for genuine day to day animal care, their service has been excellent, but unless in an emergency, I will never visit this clinic again. This is no reflection on the reception staff who we have always found to be helpful and polite. Read Less

I will never take my cat here again!! The women that treated her was rough with her and didn't have a clue what she was doing. She obviously hurt my cat, my cat has been growling and very upset since we brought her home. I am very upset by the way she was treated and will be taking this further. I have tried to call them several times this afternoon but no reply. All she was doing was giving her a worming tablet, she couldn't get her to swallow it. So I said last time the lady used a gun that fired it to the back of her throat. Which worked well, she said I'm not to familiar with these but continued to do it. She didn't know what she was doing and shoved the thing quite hard into my cats mouth and obviously hurt her. It's not supposed to be shoved in its used to fire the tablet into the back of her throat. If you don't know how to do something, go get someone who does. Took my pet in for an appointment, waited 5 minutes in the queue to see the one receptionist that was on duty, when I finally reached the front of the queue she told me I was late (by four minutes) and I'd missed my appointment. I pointed out the fact that I'd been waiting in the queue for 5 mins, but she wasn't interested. Needless to say, I left and registered with a local surgery. There are a couple of good vets at YourVets, but unfortunately there are also some salespeople with vet qualifications. They also seem to have a fair turnover of staff, so if you find a vet that you trust, there's a chance that they'll be gone next time you go, I had 3 preferred vets in the 5 years that I used yourvets. Prices are OK for vaccinations, Basic treatments etc, but be wary of the hard sell and 'Do you have insurance' line. I took a cat in with fleas and after treatment and a weekly follow-up assessment for the next three weeks, The cost was just under 300... Also my dog has stayed in their hospital twice and on both occasions he developed a urinary tract infection one week afterwards, this could be due to not enough toilet breaks or could just be a coincidence. On a positive note the entire place is kept clean and once you get past the reception the majority of the professional staff are friendly and its clear that they are good with animals. 2 stars out of 5 Read Less

I normally take my dog to the Solihull branch, but have just moved house, so Coventry is now nearer. I was able to get an appointment the next day which was great, I got there and was quickly seen by an assistant, who was quite pleasant. I then waited another 20 minutes to see the vet, which was not a problem, the problem was her attitude, I mentioned that I had medicated my dog with some anti inflammatorys and paracetamol.I had ensured that it was a low dose and not on an empty stomach. I was treated like I had given my dog cyanide, I was spoken down to like I was can idiot. Anything I said was taken with no regard. I have been given advice by other vets that in the right circumstances and dose paracetamol is ok. On top of that the vet had limited people skills and was just generally cold and rude, there was no warmth from her towards my dog either. I won't be going back to your vets Coventry, I would rather drive the extra distance to Solihull. Read Less

We have 2 cats and 2 dogs and have been using Pet Vaccination/Your Vets for over 15 years. My husband has just picked up our 8 year old boxer, Troy, who has been treated wonderfully, by the Coventry team for an infected joint. We have to date, spent somewhere in the region 1000.00 for this leg over the past 10 days. This is the same leg that we had major problems with 4 years ago and the Coventry team treated him. We were so pleased with their dedication and care of our dog. This treatment cost over 6000.00. Luckily we were covered for some of the cost on insurance but not all of it. The reason why I am writing this on the website review page now, is that 2 hours ago, my husband forgot to take a card for payment and asked if I could phone them later, when I was free, to make payment over the phone. The decision reached, at the practice, for this request was he could take the dog but not the medication; the medication to ease his pain and help get him better. We live in Birmingham, so a round trip of circa 40 miles. I am so utterly amazed by such a short sighted lack of customer care on an individual basis and really bad business acumen, as we will be reviewing our vet care on going for our 4 animals. You'll be pleased to know I'm sure, I responded to my husbands phone calls when I was able and did pay immediately, so Troy has his medication. Phew! The Admin team need to go that extra mile, in my opinion. Read Less

These are the best vets in Coventry. Kind, professional, friendly and affordable, they literally saved my dog's life by correctly diagnosing pyometra before she had even displayed the obvious symptoms. They were so patient and empathetic with me, and even helped me to sort out my pet insurance claim. When my poor older dog had to be euthanised last year, all the staff were so kind and comforting, making an extremely difficult situation bearable- even to the point of sending the family a condolence card following his death.

Read Less

All my experiences with Yourvets have been great to date. I have two large dogs who have been castrated and spayed in the last year. The vets (especially Vicky) and nurses have been magnificent in caring for my dogs and keeping me informed every step of the way. There is a definite recognition that animals are an important part of the family and I'm impressed by the way they are treated and looked after there. I will continue to take my dogs to Yourvets for the foreseeable future. Read Less

I rang your vet today concerned about my dog, was told to come straight away due to the urgency of the situation. Upon arrival I was told to wait in one of the side rooms. After waiting over an hour, i was told to wait another hour despite the immediate health of my dog who had been bleeding from her bum. The staff were very patronising, and didn't seem very sympathetic and was appalled about the service they provided.i would not recommend going to this vet if you actually want your pet to be dealt with.Read Less

Fantastic service, wonderful support staff, brilliant vets- I wouldn't trust my pets with any other practice. Read Less
