Beware of Blacks Vets.
My situation pertains to the city of Lye and Dudley, but I suspect that they operate the same way everywhere, trying to extract money from people. This company does as it pleases and operates on the edge of the law, deceiving people. My dog was supposed to have a mass removal surgery. I had discussed with the vet that the SPAY procedure would be scheduled for a later date. They performed both surgeries at the same time and did not inform the insurer that it was a procedure resulting from the dog's illness. Consequently, the insurer considered it a routine procedure and refuses to pay me £361. At my request, the insurer contacted Blacks Vets again, and Blacks Vets confirmed once more that it was a routine procedure (!!!!!) - even though it WAS NOT!! Blacks Vets is now threatening me with debt collection, and the doctor I spoke to about the surgery is not responding. I warn against them. They have exorbitant prices, and on top of that, they impose them arbitrarily. Nowhere on their website will you find a price list for SPAY procedures.
On the day of the procedure, I received only 2 invoices. After the whole incident and fuss, it turned out that they had 3 more invoices that I had not seen with my own eyes!!! Suddenly, the £1500 turned into £2100!!! BEWARE!!!

Caring, kind and understanding. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. My pets have been patients here for 12 years. Would highly recommend this vet. For me 5 stars aren't high enough.

Having been unhappy with the vets we were using attached to a retail store, where we were just a number, we decided to try Blacks Vets and it was the best thing we could have done for our puppies. All staff upon entering the Dudley reception were warm welcoming and friendly making sure our puppies were welcomed too and even giving advice on nail cutting. We had gone in for a health check and to see if it would hopefully be a more personal approach. We felt at ease straight away and every member was an asset to the practice. We have taken out the care plan for both Buddy and Holly and since the visit we have also taken Buddy in to be castrated, he is now on the mend and was looked after wonderfully while he was there. Everyone made sure all our questions were answered without making us feel like we were taking up time. We have since taken Holly in for her operation and she was fine too. We have been telling anyone with a dog that we meet on our walks, that Blacks Vets is the best vetinary care you could give any animal.

The Resident vets have enormous depth of knowledge and experience.
I would of saved myself £500 in cat treatments if I had visited them first.

What a bunch of muppets, 1st told us our cat was never going to make it or ever walk again after aparantly eating something poisonous, then after 24 hours & over 400 later she is fit as a fiddle. I can understand not raising the hopes of the owner by advising them the worse case scenario, but that is just taking the biscuit. Worse experience ever, never going back there ever again, personally I think they are a bunch of liars & thieves simples!

Had to call Blacks friday morning at 9.30 for an emergency call out for my dog who had gone off her back legs. By 1pm Dr Bart was at our house, he was very professional and friendly and seemed unfazed when my dog was growling and snarling at him during the examination. He reassured it was nothing sinister (arthritis in both knees and hips that was particularly sore) and with treatment she's back to her usual grumpy self. Special thanks again to Dr Bart and all the team at lye for Hana's care

Been bringing my greyhound, Toby to Blacks for a year now. He's a bit of a scaredy cat but every time we come all the staff are so good with him and the vets are amazing. He had his first overnight stay last night and I was kept up to date with his progress and knowing he was well looked after was a huge comfort. Looking forward to picking him up today. The staff at the Quinton branch have been wonderful to us and our Cavachon Arthur. He's almost 13 weeks old and has had 3 visits already. Thankfully he's on the mend and the vet has worked his magic on getting rid of his nasty cough. The ladies on reception are fantastic and make it a warm environment to be rather than a scary place when your pet is ill. Thank you for being great!

I just wanted to say a massive thank you to the out-of-hours emergency team who treated my dog Betty at the weekend. We discovered that she had managed to reach a batch of rock cakes that had been left on a high surface and had eaten half a dozen. Thanks to info i had picked up from your website and FB pages, I knew that currants and raisins can be toxic for dogs and lead to kidney failure, so quickly brought her to the Dudley hospital where she was seen and treated immediately. Fortunately, we got her there in time and she is now absolutely fine. I'd like to commend the lovely staff who were so kind to both my dog and myself and handled the whole situation calmly and professionally. Very well done.

I have been told by a friend that you refused to treat her dog last week because she had the wrong insurance. She offered to pay by credit card but you would not accept it. You made her dog wait for two hours in a collapsed state in the waiting room until she agreed to take out your payment plan. Only then would you treat her dog but by this time it was too late and he suffered a cardiac arrest and died. Max was just 3 years old and had been to see you the day before but nothing was picked up by your staff. He was a beautiful dog and he has lost his life because of money, so sad. Run free Max xxx

I only started using Blacks vets Dudley this year and am very pleased and happy with the service provided. All the staff were very friendly and professional when my dog was admitted for surgery on Saturday after having a blockage in his intestine. Thankfully he is now back home and doing well and it's all thanks to them.

I would like to really say how amazed we were with Dr Bart Nietrzeba and the rest of the team at Lye today. I was visiting my family due to a bereavement and whilst we were at the funeral my dogs foot became swollen. My family have always used blacks going back 30+ years. Within 45 minutes we were registered, our own vets had been contacted and we were at your establishment in Lye. Our dog is incredibly reactive and hates vets, Dr Nietrzeba straight away was happy to see her in the boot of our car and was very professional and put us completely at ease. The receptionists were also fantastic. *UPDATE* we had to take Storm back first thing this morning and we went to the branch at Dudley where we saw Dr Brian Hogan who was also amazing as were all the nursing staff and receptionists. Both experiences were as positive as they could be. They are all a credit to your profession.

Not just a vet. This is a specialist animal hospital. We are lucky to have specialist vets based there. Good parking around the back well away from the road. A well laid out area inside. There is also a quieter waiting area for angry or nervous pets. The whole team that they have there are wonderful. You can tell that they really care for animals. Winner of the "Best vet" award.

My situation pertains to the city of Lye and Dudley, but I suspect that they operate the same way everywhere, trying to extract money from people. I have been told by a friend that you refused to treat her dog last week because she had the wrong insurance. She offered to pay by credit card but you would not accept it. You made her dog wait for two hours in a collapsed state in the waiting room until she agreed to take out your payment plan. Only then would you treat her dog but by this time it was too late and he suffered a cardiac arrest and died. Max was just 3 years old and had been to see you the day before but nothing was picked up by your staff. He was a beautiful dog and he has lost his life because of money, so sad. Run free Max xxx

I only started using Blacks vets Dudley this year and am very pleased and happy with the service provided. All the staff were very friendly and professional when my dog was admitted for surgery on Saturday after having a blockage in his intestine. Thankfully he is now back home and doing well and it's all thanks to them.

I would like to really say how amazed we were with Dr Bart Nietrzeba and the rest of the team at Lye today. I was visiting my family due to a bereavement and whilst we were at the funeral my dogs foot became swollen. My family have always used blacks going back 30+ years. Within 45 minutes we were registered, our own vets had been contacted and we were at your establishment in Lye. Our dog is incredibly reactive and hates vets, Dr Nietrzeba straight away was happy to see her in the boot of our car and was very professional and put us completely at ease. The receptionists were also fantastic. *UPDATE* we had to take Storm back first thing this morning and we went to the branch at Dudley where we saw Dr Brian Hogan who was also amazing as were all the nursing staff and receptionists. Both experiences were as positive as they could be. They are all a credit to your profession.

Not just a vet. This is a specialist animal hospital. We are lucky to have specialist vets based there. Good parking around the back well away from the road. A well laid out area inside. There is also a quieter waiting area for angry or nervous pets. The whole team that they have there are wonderful. You can tell that they really care for animals. Winner of the "Best vet" award.
