I took a small, dying feral cat in to Bilton vets in the middle of the afternoon. It was found in my neighbour's garden. It wasn't my cat and my neighbour was just going to leave it. Out of compassion i took it in. The vet spent several minutes giving me a speech about how I had taken ownership of the cat. It was an upsetting experience, im a perceptive person and it seemed obvious to me, particularly in hindsight, that she did it to justify charging me 150 pounds to euthanise the cat. I didn't protest, i just paid it, the sum of money was eclipsed by the sadness of putting down this lovely creature. - I later found out that vets are duty bound to euthanise an animal dying or in distress, free of charge, especially when you don't own it. The ownership speech was entirely to justify getting some money out of me for the inevitability that lay ahead. I'm not saying they're a good or bad vet, I'm not saying they couldn't have found ways to charge me more. I'm just sharing my experience. I appreciate that the drugs, admin and disposal have costs. but I object to anyone adding profitable mark-ups in a situation like this. I've since been advised by another vet that it's extremely likely that this was the case. I don't regret going there because the cat was in severe distress. But the charge, I feel, was an unnecessary insult. Read Less

I couldn’t recommend Bilton Vets any higher - after looking after our pets for a long time, they have very recently saved the life of my elderly little dog after she was hit by a car. Bilton Vets have looked after all of our pets for over 30 years.
They have shared our joy in happy times and supported us in difficult and sad times.
All the staff are friendly and welcoming, not just to us but to whichever pet we have with us.
Consultations have always given us all the information we need to make our own decisions on treatments where appropriate.
In short, not one of our pets has ever shown any fear of "Going to the Vets" ! And we know they are in good hands.
Thank you Team Bilton ! Read Less

I took our husky to a closer vets and she bolted for the door and clawed at it to get out - so I took her to Bilton Vets and she just walked straight in. Now I deliberately take her every so often just to sit in reception or weigh her. It keeps her used to the place and makes it easier when she actually needs to see the vet. The staff are always really friendly and helpful, even showed me how to remove a tick for free. No question's a stupid question. I trust the dog's opinion and she likes them! Read Less
